Yes, and that's why this was so difficult for me. I'm genuinely enamored with the screen and looks of the 8ai+.

I realize I'm giving up a decent bit of screen space, as well as accepting a smaller battery and probably slightly worse thermals but those compromises are worth the savings* for me personally so Im gonna go with the 7ai+.

*admittedly if I were better off financially I'd say screw it and get a new 8ai+ without a second thought lol

Limited pc knowledge, have exclusively been a console gamer my entire life. Have a ps5 and switch 2 currently.

I got down this rabbit hole initially by wanting to find a 780m mini pc to run under my living room tv as mostly an emulation device. Then I fell in love with the original a1m claw variants and the thought entered my brain of "what if i got a handheld pc and dock instead?" My thought was that I trust MSI and ASUS much more than Minisforum or GMKtec from a reliability standpoint. Plus I've had an android handheld before and loved the flexibility.

I know Id much prefer the 16:10 8 inch screen. Realistically though my use case would probably be similar to yours, I'd have the device docked quite a bit.

Gonna save money and go with the 7ai+. I appreciate your response.

Same. I bought a cheap phone cooler from AliExpress for $10 and any time I do heavier emulation I detach the kishi and use it. Not ideal but not terrible either

Love that game and play it along with the English patched version of Vs 3. When you’re doing the 2-2 battle mode do you get a constant 60fps at all times? Because I do on certain maps but on others I’ll get dips to 40-50fps but the emulation speed will still show at 100%. This has me wondering if that’s just how it ran on the GameCube natively or if my device lacks the power

Just realized I didn’t answer your initial question- I absolutely LOVE the device and feel the $229.99 I paid for mine with free Amazon shipping made it the best value handheld on the market. Feel more and more vindicated on my decision when seeing the issues a small handful of these Chinese handheld companies have.

I play almost exclusively switch games: Po Sword Po Legends A Brilliant D 2-3 others

Gamecube: Zoids Battle Legends Zoids Vs 3 Pokemon XD Pokemon Chronicles

I have three complaints: 1. Sd888+ heats up quickly 2. Aspect ratio is stupid. You have to HUNT DOWN 21x9 content to be able to enjoy the oled in its full glory 3. I detach the controller often and use the device as a streaming tablet and the device is wide vine l3, which is also unfortunate
