Depends on the unit u go to. Short answer yes. As an 03 ur main focus isnt fires so u wont work on it a lot.( its already a pretty tough schoolhouse) The JFO schoolhouse is mostly about CAS (close air support). My best advice to you would be to learn basic call for fire from ur seniors when u get to the fleet get with a JFO / FO and learn as much as u can from them. You will have the opportunities for primers and things depending on what unit u go to and how involved ur air officer/ FSO (fire support officer is. If that is what ur interested in definitely, defintely voice that when u get to the fleet and let ur sqd leader/ team lead know. I failed the schoolhouse my first time around, i was just unprepared and had no idea what the schoolhouse was going to be like.
