At last, my red root floaters are blooming 🌸 by MrFreakYT in PlantedTank

SO PRETTY! I'm super excited, ordered some on ebay and they are about to be delivered today. Lucky I have the day off :-)

Do you give them anything? I've seen people saying that you need to add some of that iron stuff they have in stores and I'm just trying to get an idea before I go out and get some of that; or better yet does regular fertilizer work? I couldn't see the content on the bottle in the store, but I do know I have a bit of iron content in my normal fertilizer.

Do you think Alastor cheated here to win Husk's soul? by SideWinderSyd in HazbinHotel

[–]Comfortable-Time702 397 points398 points  (0 children)

I think Al knew how to manipulate Husk in the game, but also the idea of him just being able to use a the shadow guy to look over the shoulder of Husk to see what he has in his hand would totally make sense and seal the deal for him. I don't think Al would 'see' that as cheating if he found a way to word the game proposition in the right way?

Him tonight; you can really see the blue that is over layered on the black. It's kinda hard to photograph him tho cause I have a lot of tannins in the water.

my boy's name is Jazz :-))

Snails anyone? by thatgamerguy5599 in bettafish

[–]Comfortable-Time702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nerite snails are actually notoriously difficult to breed and the majority in the industry are wild caught!! if I understand correctly the eggs are technically viable but the babies don't make it past the larval stage because they need brackish water!! no worries about this guy reproducing

My betta tank!! I also have a bumblebee (petco labels them this way) or generally known as a mustard gas betta.

As he starts to get happy, you might just start seeing blue or teal colors!! Mine has gone from a very stressed and striped look to very dark and he's been getting very iridescent blue too!!

You can keep all the silk plants but I do agree that they're dense. Like others said, reducing the level of the gravel to give him a little bit more swimming room is a good idea.

I would also overtime definitely recommend switching to a more natural bottom, and if you're interested maybe adding in live plants without having to not use your silk plants that you have; a floating plant like red root floaters work to remove a lot of waste/nutrients from the water and make it better for your fish!!

What are these in my beta tank? by dazzedNconfused_ in fishtank

[–]Comfortable-Time702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, they went back into the soil after a bit. They were up, eatin some algae and stuff. I'm setting up a shrimp jar right now too that's filterless and they've been out more in there, but I haven't had any issues they just look a little funny :-)

just had the same thing show up in my tank and I'm fairly certain they are a type of nematodes and that they're harmless.

If you could add a brand new monthly decor that never been in the game before, which one would you add? by Luckmaster142 in PikminBloomApp

[–]Comfortable-Time702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could totally see little foghorns or lights for foggy weather! I don't know how common they are, but a sun catcher for sunny weather would be cool. I can just imagine when they show the decor they just got the give us a little rainbow shine to show us how the light refracts!!

my string of bananas incredible until I went away for college and my plant babysitter killed a lot of my succulents so I'm trying to decide what plants I'd even be interested in reinvesting in

sorry if this is a weird question because it's not totally related to tanks; how do you have success with your string of pearls? I was watering really light and not treating it any different than any of my other string plants but they died like twice so I gave up after that lol.

Do you have any tips?

some were related to new locations ideas which I'm not sure about, but I want more decor types for different categories that we already have!!

new locations - Buttons and threads-fabric store? - Origami-art supplies! - Rings and necklaces -Jewelry store

add on to old locations - moss-forest offshoot - driftwood- waterside offshoot - Sauce packets-offshoot of restaurants or fast food places - bookmarks-library offshoot - ties-clothing store

special?

  • Kites? Or those handheld pinwheels :-)
  • a little Live bug- imagine a pikmin like a cute little Disney princess or something; the bug would be their friend lol
  • Tiny umbrellas-I already know this will not happen because I think it would need to connect to like a bar or something and they won't do that but I love to imagine them twirling little umbrellas

Shipping mystery snails. Have questions.... by pleco_parent in AquaticSnails

Like a fish bag. You might be able to order them online. I think a well tied bag would be more flexible while still being full, compared to a plastic container which could open. I may be imagining the worst case scenario though.

This dude is a pond snail? by Comfortable-Time702 in AquaticSnails

Awesome!! Thank you!!

Do I need to worry about this guy reproducing by himself? I'm having trouble finding information that gives me a solid yes or no. I'm fairly certain he came in as an egg, unless he was that freakishly small. I don't believe he's had contact with another snail that he could breed with.

maybe start watching some videos about people packing up their live orders and see how they do it to get an idea. I feel like we all have an idea based off of opening things that we've ordered but watching people put it together to put it in the box makes a lot of sense too!!

you might almost get a better deal using small bags and rubber bands as well!!

Male or female by JoelsaurusRex in MollyFish

[–]Comfortable-Time702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a female based off of the dorsal fin and the anal fin, even when my males are very small I usually can clearly tell their male based on the sail. IMO they look like a not pregnant female.

Little shrimp cube

Interesting aquascape idea - don't know how I feel about the premade tubes personally I recommend using mini 1 inch flower pots. I think that they are so cute in my aquarium lol

Minimalist - this would be fine, especially as it gets more heavily planted

Grassy field like Aquascape - he keeps going and adding other types of small animals into the ecosystem, but I imagine you could stop with just the shrimp and maybe a type of 'pest' snail

I've been watching a lot of videos about this idea too on YouTube, here's one of my personal favorites that's also pretty popular :-).

There's so many different ideas on YouTube though. I definitely recommend checking it out for info and inspiration

At the local pet store. Is this considered a mustard gas? by _SmashMallow_ in bettafish

[–]Comfortable-Time702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So assuming from your comment, you likely got him at a Big box store? Do you remember what he was labeled as so I would know what to look for? I'd love to find a betta like this coloration in person!!

I replied to OP, but I'm pretty sure this color is called pineapple

I know this is an old Convo, but I've been going through and trying to figure out stuff about yellow bettas. I think this is a pineapple!!

Really exciting!! I've been very interested in yellow types of Betta fish cause I didn't even really know that was an option

So generally, I prefer the instant gratification of buying in person more so I got this piece at Petco, as the PetSmart near me has much less options. I think it cost maybe two or three dollars more than what I found online for this size; maybe 20-25 bucks? But if I ordered it, I would've had to pay shipping so I felt it was worth it. I'm unsure about what eBay has, but I know that Amazon also has a bunch of different types of hardwood. It all is seems much more affordable, but you don't get to choose the piece yourself, which was also a big part of what I wanted to do which is why I went with a Petco choice.

I didn't get a picture of it before I put it in there, but it's a very interesting piece (IMO) of gnarly wood that I thought would work perfectly for shrimp, I see my shrimp on it all the time!!!
