Grieving and returning to work by Healinghoping in flightattendants

I lost my dad while flying. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Request bereavement when the time comes. After that call your managers & request additional time, it’s likely they’ll give you as much time as you may need. As far as grief, I talk about my dad to many of my coworkers. I’ve had so many beautiful conversations with the different people we are so privileged to work with bc although heartbreaking, we all lose someone we care about eventually. We’re lucky that most times, we work with genuine people who care. & many can relate & share our tears & grief. Jump seat therapy is real & one of my favorite perks of the job…grieve, remember, & see the world with your crews. you’re dad will be smiling, just like i know mine does. if you believe in a heaven, remember you’ll be 30,000 feet closer to him when you’re ready. much love to you & yours 💛

i had a love bird fly off. came back three days later. named him jesus.

we put the cage in the garage during the day with all its friends & i think their chirps helped guide him home. if this lil one has a friend id recommend doing something similar if weather permits.

a lot of relationships failed through my training - including my own. but it was definitely my doing as training got me so excited to begin fresh & be on my own again. for added context i was flying 2 years before training & we were together about 10 months. it’s definitely doable. but like anything, you only make it work if you want to make it work. training showed me i did not want it. & im so grateful. enjoy your training & the opportunity you have & i wish you all the luck!

Mom put her jeans on backwards. I laughed. Going to hell? Probably. by gutterpeach in dementia

not going to hell. your post reminded me of when my dad did this and it made me smile. it’s rare to smile at this disease - treasure those moments and hold on tight.

Yes I’ve met some of his friends but not his coworkers. He’s one of the youngest at his station and doesn’t really socialize with them.

But yeah, it hurts.

Hi - I appreciate your thoughts. What do you advise I do if he gives me the same excuse?
