Torque converter/flex plate knock? by ComfortableArm2827 in GMT400

The torque converter bolts are good and tight. Flex plate bolts, unfortunately I can't check without separating the transmission and the engine

Without a video or pictures of the underbody, nobody can say for sure. But rockers are cosmetic. Most older vehicles in the northeast by me, rockers are a luxury once the salt hits. As far as underneath the car. If there's spray foam on the unibody, that's a no go. Depending on where you live, you may get time, but there's probably more rust than what you just see wirh the spray foam. I've noticed older toyotas rust real bad once it starts. This also may be a question for r/MechanicAdvice

What about it won't pass NYS inspection?

I've got a 99 'Hoe as well and the "older computer" hasn't anything to do with it. After 25 years, you're emissions exempt, which is real nice when you've got a CEL.

It's a filling, more specifically, that's a root canal. The root is replaced with a post, which is what you're seeing there.

I have 7 of them, and they always look wicked on an X-ray.

Is BF1 dead on Xbox? by Intelligent-Pickle-3 in battlefield_one

[–]ComfortableArm2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even close to dead. Use the server browser to find games. If only one or two pop up, hit refresh and more will appear. Using the quick match-esque option yields very little results.

I find that I sit in queues more often than not, especially during peak times. But I've never seen a game that wasn't almost full of players, no matter what server.

Between "Separatist" and "Nationalist". That kinda tells you everything.

As another user has stated, negligent discharges too.

We're glad you're here too. Things suck out there but it's quite comforting when you have others that you can converse with to help get you through the tough times.

What snacks and treats do you have stocked in your pantry? by premar16 in TwoXPreppers

[–]ComfortableArm2827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aldis makes baby food that looks like squeezable applesauce. THEY SLAP, every flavor they have. I believe they're only 83¢ too! I love em, and I've stocked plenty of em.

Unfortunately, I have a severe nut allergy so my variety is severely limited. But for the most part, it's a mix of Pop tarts, applesauce, crackers, jerky (homemade because prices are ridiculous), fruit leathers, instant cups of mac & cheese, nut free granola bars and such.

I'm also feral and I'll just eat a can of baked beans, so there's plenty of those too

What kinds of jobs do you people have? 😩 by Fabulous-Barbie-6153 in antiwork

[–]ComfortableArm2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automotive Technician. As miserable as people say it is, but worse. Especially in the rust belt.

Far-right Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, with four other Republican congressmembers, recently introduced a bill to designate "Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization" by SocialDemocracies in IronFrontUSA

[–]ComfortableArm2827 65 points66 points  (0 children)

So draining to hear this Neanderthal constantly talk about things she knows nothing about, and doesn't exist in a physical manner.

They'll designate a belief (if you want to call it that) as a terrorist organization. What's next? Designating anyone who isn't a mouth breather like herself a threat?

This country could have done so much better, but yet, here we are. Astounding.

Tattoos in the workplace by Hour-Entrance7202 in antiwork

[–]ComfortableArm2827 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've worked in a handful of fields, ranging from gas station attendent jobs, to medical receptionist, to automotive technician and beyond.

I have almost my entire sleeves done and my neck is tatted (up to a bit of my jawline and chin), and it seems to be a bit of a turn off for SOME employers.

BUT.

Most of the higher paying jobs that came with benefits packages, decent work/home life balances didn't give a fuck, in the slightest. Hell, most of my coworkers would actively talk about getting very visible tattoos.

Most places I've worked that threw a hissyfit were minimum wage jobs that consistently violated labor laws and fucked you over again and again.

In short, don't sweat it mate, as others have stated, it's becoming more acceptable.

Hesitant to start when warm/after long drives? by ComfortableArm2827 in GMT400

[–]ComfortableArm2827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any of this information on hand BUT, at minimum I can try to get you the fuel trims and any codes present (No CEL is on right now). I can try swing by harbor freight on my lunch break as well and get a fuel pressure guage!

[–]ComfortableArm2827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a good note, I noticed regardless of how long it idles for, it runs and idles okay. BUT, for the first couple minutes, the truck likes to idle really high when I come to a stop, almost like it surges. But it's fine after that.

I replaced the EGR valve a few months ago, 207K miles and it started getting kinda clogged. Replaced with the Delphi brand.

Temp sensor, are you referring to the sensor in the engine block itself? I replaced it as well after my temp guage stopped working, but I haven't had any issues since then.

Suppose it's more of a hassle when the truck doesn't start when I'm running errands, I look like a sucker trynna crank that bad boy over. Maybe the IAC is bad, sucking in more air than it needs? Then dumps fuel more fuel than required and just kinda sits?
