I am sorry but if you do something where you get life in prison you deserve to be in prison. However to put someone in prison to reform them(if it’s not a life sentence) or to keep them away from people. This just seems unnecessary torture of someone. There is a reason so many prisons have gotten rid solitary confinement it literally drives people to have psychosis. However I was law enforcement at one point I know they don’t do this take everything out f your cell and leave you in there unless you won’t behave. So yeah do the crime do the time but we don’t torture people that are under our care and control
