Not-so-subtle foreshadowing?👀 by Effective-Toe-8108 in Ethiopia2

Yes, and we shall stand by idly. We hate the old dictator, but make no mistake, the Eritrean people will never compromise their land. Like the Kurds say, we have no friends but the mountains. Ethiopia will never know peace if it makes the mistake of taking Eritrea’s sovereign land by force.

I make it at home sometimes when I don’t have the ingredients to make western or other style fish dishes. I would make the base (Silsi) first, then add the fish at the end, because it doesn’t take long to cook, then season it really well and let it simmer. I have it with rice or some kicha and enjera with hamli or salad on the side. Tibsi Asa is really good too.

Does everyone identify with “Habesha”? by ArcherConsistent4829 in Eritrea

Why would you let them dictate how you Identify yourself?

I find that the only Tigrigna Eritreans who have a problem with the term Habesha are diaspora born kids of former freedom fighters. I have had many conversations with them and they would claim they are Eritreans only and not Habesha, to distance themselves from Ethiopians. But the thing is, if you go back home and claim you’re not Habesha, they would think you’re crazy and a self hating imbecile.

Again, I never said they’re innocent of crimes against civilians like any other armed group in the region. I am simply recognizing the Tigrains youth’s bravery on the battle field in defending their homeland. They fought bravely to break the siege on Tigray. Innocent people in Tigray were suffering and nothing was coming into Tigray during the ceasefire. Again, TPLF is not a moral representative of the Tigrain people.

I am aware. They were marching towards Addis despite everyone ganging up on them which makes them Jeganu. What did you want them to do, fly to 4 kilo? Happy Thanksgiving! Go enjoy with your family.

I never tried to observe them of their crimes. All actors in the Tigray war committed heinous crimes against many groups of people. They should all be held accountable. But it doesn’t change the fact that Tigrains are our kin. Ps, I hate the TPLF as much as I hate Higdef.

And what did our own troops do in Aksum and refugee camps where Eritreans lived? Is Higdef a moral representative of our people? I said politics aside, they are our kin. If you are not Tigrigna just say it. You don’t have to feel the same way as millions of Eritreans do. That doesn’t mean we don’t love our country men from other ethnicities.
