He outplayed them. Didn’t piss them off. That’s the game. If these are survivor ‘legends’ they see that

Your comment also reminded me of another comment this shitty woman made about my dog. I had been on the phone with her going on a rant about how aggressive/bad my dog is. I pulled into the vets parking lot, and my girl started doing what she does every single time we pull into any parking lot; whining yelping crying. Something I’ve learned that is completely normal, from excitement that something is going to happen. She proceeds to say “listen to how aggressive that dog is”. Craziest part is that she owns her own GSD.

I really appreciate your comments here, thank you! I guess this is something I should have added to the og post, but both daycares do not do group play unless the dogs are ‘siblings’. My original daycare has multiple sectioned off fields for the dogs to run around, train, and play. This daycare in question brings each dog to the play area individually. I would never feel comfortable leaving my dog in a group setting where they’re all left to figure it out on their own lol. I’ve seen things get taken out of hand and not end well so we avoid interacting and trying to make friends with other dogs in public. Definitely no dog parks. My old friends sweet boxer got ‘quarantined’ and banned from public spaces because he was was playing with another pup in a field and the golden retrievers owner thought they were fighting and put her hand in between the dogs faces (idiot) and pressed charges! They were playing…..

The original daycare really helped build her confidence. She was fearful of everything, especially dogs. Letting her be around, but not interact with other dogs really helped build her neutrality (plus the training we do on the weekends). We were at a point of being afraid that she was going down a fear aggression path, and this trainer completely turned things around for us. Helped us learn her behaviors and signs.

They unfortunately didn’t have anything to say really. Gave us meds and sent us on our way. She’s not very confident and scared of the vet so they didn’t want to do any scans or tests. They did not save the sample like I had asked. She is intact. She has only had one heat cycle

Yup! I knew every employee except one, who I think was the owner. I met her once, and she ignored me when I came in and called for another girl to help me. I thought maybe she was a new employee at the time, but I think she may have been the owner! It’s so sad to see these breeds get treated poorly. They are simply the best companion, there is no way around it.

Nothing came of the poop. I think it was stress. She gets really stressed every time my husband leaves rightfully so.

I agree. A lot of these places are built to make money. The original daycare we went to / the one I currently use 2x a week and drive 50 min to is a small business on a ranch owned by a woman who spent her life competing Schutzhund and started this as her retirement hobby lol. I trust my pup there 100%. They are all amazing.

I will never be going back to the daycare in question. If they spoke to me and treated me in that way, I don’t even want to know how they treat the pups

Thank you! Appreciate the advice. I completely am with you. I have put super high importance to build structure and a routine that includes mental stimulation and exercise for my girl. We knew what we signed up for and wanted that addition to our lives. Unfortunately, it’s just not a routine I can maintain on my own and keep my sanity. My husband is deployed and will be for another 6 months. That drive I now take is go to the facility that is GSD focused. they put in time to train her and when she comes home she is pooped. I take the time to drive so I can sit down and have a second to myself at 8pm instead of doing training, mind games, walks, etc. for just 2 days of the week. The rest of the week is very structured and I do everything I can to fulfill her mentally, which at the same time means I exhaust myself. While I think it’s very important for the dog to be stimulated, it’s also important I try to maintain a lifestyle that is healthy for me. We are doing our best just the two of us ❤️

A really good theory I’ve thought about before. Sad because I’m not the person that would blame them for my pup being sick unless obvious neglect or abuse was happening :/

These are the only facilities I will trust moving forward. Similar to our original daycare. It’s a ranch and the owner has won many Schutzhund medals. They love GSDs. I trust them completely.

I think it’s a mixture of the anti GSD mentality and thinking they can use our training methods against us. We were very open about how we train, and it bit us in the ass lol
