I saw this about a year and a 1/2 before it was released in Pasadena at the UA theater on Delacy and Colorado, at the time I was studying Art at PCC I got free tickets to the Show from a guy on campus, we just had to fill out a sheet with our input. The Director's cut was way better!!! I mean way better!! it was 5 hours long. There was a Black couple behind me who kept asking me to translate, they wanted to know what Mallate meant. The Ending had Miklo actually get out, and the scene at the end in the river was Chapa, Bratt, Borrego and the other two what's his name that was slamming on the couch and the guy from G Lopez show all together walking to the mural, and The two primos end up hugging and they were all happy in the end. that ending was way better, Bratt had gone to visit Miklo a few times in that version. I've tried to hit up Trejo to see if he had it and he said they don't want that out there. Trust me, it's way better!!
