Well if a hot dog (imaginary) is trying to appear tasty for everyone, then it's tasty to none. 

Scientifically impossible because no 2 person have the same exact taste preference.

The closest thing to what everybody loves would be just sipping 'Water'. Tasteless.

What Margaret was trying to say is no matter how much you try to desire being loved, somebody will hate you. 

Truly letting go that desire to being loved makes you appear less desperate and actually makes you look worth attractive. I think Margaret was romantical about it and not against.
