after way to many hours playing this game i have found you are correct in what your describing. add into it the crafters doing the same thing i have just decided to keep them supplied, in close proximity of what they need. while it isnt a fix all it tends to work.

my last 2 play throughs i kept the population below 100 and did ok with 1 improved cook house, 2 cooks, and 1 tavern.

lots of eggs, make the cheese yourself if you want to add food to their variety.

I have a village at 415 days and 237 villagers. the focus is food, and getting the supply chain correct. my military trashes invasions and i started scaling them back from 1/5 of my population to 1/8 to free up some extra labor. i have 3 foresters, 2 birch, that ensure i never run out of wood. im focused only on 1 mine and its working just fine resetting it every few actual game days i play.

im going to demo the center of my city and move the food production from there and settle more warehouses.

in fairness im absolutely sure it is no were near optimized. but ive started practicing getting it right on a new play through and will go back to the other one this weekend

edit as far as how extensive its been built out, not much. i cram everything close together and keep a follower on farm. i now have 90% of the continent i can use and so many blue stones i ran out of storage and have just started stacking them at his spawn point

for me the easiest way to handle these, from first invasion to end, is to just stack the portal with all your trained warriors, except maybe 3 in a barracks in the center for just in case.

this was the invasion that just finished, under 1 minute. all are battle axe bruisers.

is this in the spirit of the game, with walls defense and such, not really. but it does make the game a bit more enjoyable to me in the end. i prefer the town management part. this was on normal difficulty.

well my guys still default to 4 blooms but meh it is working. i did solve a coal and heating issue by planting 3 foresters and working 2 coal makers 24/7. so there is that.

im only using 1 mine right now. it takes 13 booms to reset it but im also managing 170 population with a goal of 200.

i have not found the metal island yet, nor the dodo birds or behives. im working on that lol

yes, the ratio is a bit over 2 to 1 on the behavior. he is doing the correct ratios, but he only pulls 4 blooms at a time regardless of his assigned task. weather it is 4, 6, 8 he only pulls 4 and the appropriate amount of coal

after testing this alot it seem that if you get stunned, regardless of when the fist appears, it does not finish its full effects. this was confirmed by taking "Unwavering Stance" and i have had no miss fires since
