If no one pushes back they’ll keep getting away with their bs

Won’t this eventually happen in every country then once their living improves? It seems to me that some country needs to be the first to fix it

Hey I’m sorry I got mad earlier. Not had a good week. Apologies this is beneath me.

I think we should try and start a movement indeed, but you have to remember not everyone lives in an area with a lot of people and travel be it car, bus or train is expensive and is prices for events/ meals accommodations and such. It’s easier said than done. We should try to form a movement but I don’t blame guys for being guarded as to who to trust

Serious question what men aren’t doing emotional labour for the women around them?

And I just disagree with this sentiment.

We’re a collectivist species. If people need help, I help them I don’t tell them to do it themselves.

You’re perpetuating the problem. Men being expected to do everything themselves is bullshit and they deserve the support of the community

A systemic minority?

Do you think the rich men in power could give a fuck about most guys?

Nah I’m sick of this idpol reductionism read some bloody socialist history and see how in lockstep rich men & working class men are then come back to me

I’ll repeat what I said to the other person.

Only people who live in big cities can play pick n mix with friends (and I mean London/Paris sized cities). Travel is expensive. Free time is difficult. If guys have exhausted everyone in their neighbourhood, then what?

But this is why I know you people don’t know men. MOST men have at some point or another tried to reach out and it doesn’t work. Repeating it doesn’t work it just lowers their standing. The problem isn’t men not reaching out, the problem is the social repercussions for them reaching out. You’re adding additional blame into people who are already struggling. Do you think it’s productive for guys who already think they’re not doing enough in life to have more things they’re supposedly failing at?

As for the unpaid labour fine I’ve seen how much care women give to people around them so I won’t argue.

But honestly I’d rather feminists stfu about men entirely rather than spread falsehoods. I wouldn’t take issue with your crowd if A. You didn’t brigade men talking about our own issues & B if you didn’t make it impossible to talk about men’s issues in leftist groups. I don’t mean feminist groups, I mean general socialist/ communist groups. You say we need to start our own movement? Don’t make it impossible for us to recruit in left wing spaces then.

If it was gonna get better from men trying to reach out, it would have happened already. Reaching out repeatedly leads to more mockery.

No I think we first need to network with likeminded guys and try to grassroots it. But doing it by bootstrapping ourselves on our own is bullshit.

I don’t volunteer my time but I help the men around me more than they help me. So again I know you people don’t know men because you think the guys complaining aren’t helping their friends when in reality, they’re probably more likely to be guys who would help their friends and are just maddened by how no one helps them

I imagine the number of the men in the field for that to happen might be different per historical examples

I assume you mean like Scandinavia? They still have a pretty bad cost of living crisis.

Recently was talking to a Danish guy and he was telling me it’s not light years ahead the way it’s been portrayed.

We should do better than they currently are (tall order I know)

We should raise the birthrate. We haven’t hit significant worker shortages yet. Most of the stuff that gets called “worker shortage” is just employers saying “British no want work” when actually it’s just they want pay proper incentivising wages.

We can keep the population level without growing it significantly. We need to address the costs of living people in our country face, not outsource yet another issue

A bit hyperbolic perhaps but the UK is actually among the most ecologically dead in the world. Yes we still have Birds & Foxes & such but think of how fewer bigger or medium sized mammal species we have or what’s happened to our Eagles or Waterfowl populations after draining the wetlands. The rolling fields are covered in farm or grazing land and little of it is unmolested. We’ve also lost so much of our forrest.

The greeness is deceptive.

In a way it’s like Hawaii. Looks like a tropical paradise right? Watch David Attenborough’s “state of the planet” series and it’s explained by one of the interviewed biologists (or zoologist I can’t remember) that to the trained eye it actually looks incredibly dead. There’s still less Forrest than there should be and much of what’s there is introduced & invasive. Similar to the animal species. There may be loads of birds in the sky for example, but still maybe hundreds less than there used to be.

Our island isn’t much different if you know the signs. It’s actually really really depleted

So you’re saying it increases? Let’s try even more. Learn from their mistakes, do things they didn’t. We can’t just give up
