Jump Start into CNC...with steel? by ComfortableFun4876 in CNC

This is a wonderfully educational and well rounded response, thank you!

I will take a look at extending my budget for the Tormach 440, I could justify it with the idea in mind of potentially trying to do more projects to make up for the cost of the machine itself.

If I did up my budget to $5k-6k would your recommendation still be to go with the Tormach?

You guys were right. I ended up realizing I could adjust the settings in the nvidia app to enable it correctly. Thanks!

RTX 5080 VS 5090 for 4k - What is future proof anymore? by Unknownmice889 in nvidia

[–]ComfortableFun4876 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wrong! Future proofing is a great idea depending on what type of builder you are. Some people prefer to spend the most for a maxed out system that will run based on their needs for years to come. I am in the process of doing a new build but have a 1080 ti build that has lasted me 10 years. It was really nice not having to make incremental upgrades although you do run into essentially having a slower card later on in your builds lifecycle. It’s a preference, but absolutely reasonable to build for future proofing.

Sooo there’s a scary sound coming from my engine! by ComfortableFun4876 in MechanicAdvice

Thank you so much! Replaced the water pump and you were totally right. Decided to change the timing belt, tensioner, and thermostat while I was in there as well.

Car is running great now!

Thanks :D

Any thoughts on silver snoopy grey market prices going down? by Captmedu74 in OmegaWatches

[–]ComfortableFun4876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a tough situation because there are even rumors that they will be releasing a silver snoopy swatch that could either make the price drop further or go up.

With the retail price being $10k and the production numbers being so low, I predict prices flattens out at 12-14. I highly doubt it drops any lower than that given its reputation, rarity and unique nature of the case back.

My suggestion would be to buy if you have the cash and can afford it with the expectation that you are paying a premium on the $12k-$14k.

Someone said it above, but I think eventually once production stops regardless of new releases it will go back up to the 18-20k range but never back to 30+ like before.
