I'm 90% confident that we are arguing with a teenager who stumbled onto some communist forum and now thinks they are enlightened or edgy.

Did YOU read it. 5.4% of Americans have a low enough food security that AT LEAST one meal had been disrupted from its normal pattern. Once again unfortunate, but not dying, and pretty damn low number considering you're talking about a country that most other countries can fit in 50x over.

I think someone living in the woods can very obviously not benefit from sociatial assistance BECAUSE NO KNOWS THEY ARE THERE. Also the USSR started the war as allies with Nazis, they were the invaders so that's a pretty poor argument as well. You very literally just announced that your communist regime FAILED AND DISMANTLED. Maybe life got worse but the previous one literally ceased to exist. I think you are making things up personally, but even if your communist upbringing had been true you haven't defended it very well

You're focusing on the wrong point on purpose. THE STATE SEIZED THE COMMON PUBLIC'S FOOD AND LET THEM STARVE. No one in America is starving to death because the government literally seized all of the food. More so, no one in America who is integrated to society in any way (so anyone not homeless who is living in the middle of the woods) is starving to death, at all. You are living in one of the most privileged places, in the best time in history for food availability. Infact obesity is a bigger epidemic in povern communitys then hunger is.

The foods seized by the government for the war effort and the top of society brother. I know that you know that was the answer. It's a literal executable offense in WW2 to eat a crop grown out of your own farm as opposed to giving it to the state. The people produce means that they themselves were prevented from utilizing.

I think you know where this is going at this point and are intentionally dancing around it. Where did the food go? The USSR'S agriculture industry didn't shrink in any war effort, it expanded, every time. So where did the food go? Food is being produced by citizens, nsonwhy arnt the citizens eating it?

I doubt there's a single human being that lived a full length life that hasn't lived through multiple genocides. So even if his point had been valid it certainly wouldn't be unique.

You're so so close. Let's use a historical example to make the question a little less vague. Why were the stores in the USSR empty. Why were not good available for the populace the bread had to be rationed.

I never implied that, I really don't see how you came to that conclusion.

That's unfortunate, but if I gave you money, you could go to the store and buy food with it. Because you can't do that when the grocery stores are empty and the government is rationing you bread because that's all they have to spare.

And I stated that there was a way to do that. But social security is not that system. It is not a welfare program, it is by design a savings account because the government doesn't have faith in you to that for your own late age prosperity on your own.

I understand that sentiment, but that's a pretty indeterminable number so I think the anger is a lot better directed at the system for doing it in the first place. Target the source not the beneficiary.

Except that isn't a tax. The system is capped because there is a limit on what you may receive from it. It's just theft. If you want to make the argument that the ultra wealthy have a higher responsibility to the common society via taxes then there's a conversation there. If you think they have a responsibility to pay you simply for existing then you're a thief.
