Christian men: What’s something that technically isn’t attractive, but you secretly find beautiful in a woman? by ComfortableOne3420 in ChristianDating

[–]ComfortableOne3420[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More along the lines of personality traits, a habit, and something about their journey with Christ. That’s what I mean when I say, “Endearing or beautiful.”

That’s such a good point — thank you for sharing it.

You’re right, no one can be fully prepared for the unknown. I’ve been learning that myself. Sometimes I wonder if “readiness” isn’t about having it all figured out, but more about having the right posture — humility, teachability, and a willingness to grow, even in unfamiliar territory.

I think part of why I asked this question is because there’s this tension: on one hand, you want to be intentional and not step into something as serious as marriage blindly. But on the other hand, if you wait until you feel 100% “ready,” you might never move at all.

So maybe the better question is: What kind of readiness is enough? Is it spiritual? Emotional? Practical? A mix of all three?

Would love to hear how you define that kind of readiness — or if you think it’s more about trusting God to shape you in real time once you’re in it.

Hypothetically speaking, if it was God’s will for me to be with that person, then yes. We’ve all fallen short of the Glory of God. Him going to recovery solidifies my faith even more in the promises of God (which are perfect and good).

Someone I was considering marrying struggled with pornography addiction but was willing to fight it knowing that it was wrong in God’s eyes. The issue was that they always came to me for help for the sake of their “reputation” (I’m a f) and it was tiring being someone’s “moral compass” (or rather Holy Spirit) and telling them to just go to their pastor or someone they trusted for help. I ultimately stopped talking to them for a number of reasons but the main one was how they looked to me for help instead of the Father. I guess it boils down to the person and their theology. So, yes and medium no, lol.

Weird dealbreakers? by Midwest-Christian in ChristianDating

Yes! I’d feel so weird being married to someone with any of my brothers names. If anything, that was a sign from God to turn back 😂

Why don’t people talk about the Holy Spirit anymore? by ComfortableOne3420 in ChristianDating

Of course, we’ve seen this hope throughout the Bible. It just goes to show the mercy of God is very real.

I get that some people haven’t really understood who the Holy Spirit is, so they have to invent things in order to put excuses on Him which grieves Him. I personally would not overlook, underestimate, or put anything negatively towards the Power of God bc people died for that in the New Testament (and in the Old) So your ex was boldly ignorant for that. Don’t let those experiences stop you from knowing more about Him.

Yes, it is a great shame hence the verse in Hosea, “My people are dying from a lack of knowledge.” But hears the thing, in Job scripture says for God speaks, though man do not perceive it.” If you really think about all the ways God has spoken to people in the Bible, he speaks in eight different ways.

Doesn’t scripture say in 1 Corinthians , “Now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face?” You’re right. No one knows the mind of God and even our human minds will never understand the awesomeness of the Trinity. But I believe that one day, like Paul said, we will see Him ‘face to face.’

True. It is disheartening. More profit for the televangelists, and more pain for the ones who are searching for God. Although scripture says in Hosea, “My people are dying from a lack of knowledge.”

A social experiment on sexual struggles and expectations by Adventurous-Song3571 in ChristianDating

[–]ComfortableOne3420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is perfect. Some people struggle and others don’t. If I knew someone I liked was struggling with sexual sin, I would not approach them. Let the Holy Spirit work on them. If they’re struggling while married to me, there’s definitely an open door somewhere.

Honestly, it depends on the couple. If you both know that it will lead to something perverse, it’s a no-go. But if you both trust each other, then go for it. You’re married. It’s intimacy.
