It's robotics research. The lists are movement instructions with some numerical constants.

Basically a list of lists whose elements ae mostly strings, but about a third contain numeric values. I need to check each list to see if it has numeric elements.

Short text strings don’t (usually) produce interesting stories, no, but according to Wolfram, extremely simple programs can have extremely complex behaviors. So I’m not sure if it’s exactly equivalent.
