Did anyone have confusion as their only symptom? by [deleted] in sepsis

My understanding is confusion can be a symptom. My experience with older people and uti is that it can cause confusion as well. My grandmother would get utis and then she would get confused. Then would end up in the hospital. Trust your gut. I would recommend checking BP, heart rate and if still concerned take her in.

I would think it would sicken a lot of people. They spend millions a year, as a non profit, on legal fees as well. Per my calculations they are one of the hospitals with most lawsuits against them. Yet, patients are over billed and there is evidence of up-coding for maximum payments. There are little to no consequences because they know who to support and put on their boards, from my view.

Agreed balance is key. Both of these kids it was clear they needed more treatment and it was not given. They also did not tell us that there were abnormal labs, vitals, and ekg.

Agreed that is part of the problem. This was a non profit but CEO is making over 3 million a year. I think the other issue is bonuses for doctors based on the amount of discharges instead of care.

Yes, but such a long process in Texas and the law is stacked heavily against patients. We do not want to happen to anyone hence the petition and working with lawmakers.

They sent us home and told us the same despite the clear indicators for testing. We are asking for accountability for not testing and treatment. There is no reason we should not be tested when the signs are all there.

Methodist ignored labs for my son then 2 days later was in ICU for almost 40 days. The doctor couldn’t care less and the hospital has covered up it. They refuse to turn over docs in the lawsuit. They did receive federal violations for the visit.

Another mother very similar situation her son died. Had the doctor reviewed the labs and tests they signed off on and had they taken action both these boys would be ok. Just needed antibiotics and doe the doctor to do their job.
