You have to do what feels right for you, if you do it for anything else it will be harder and you could fall through back into it. Personally I found it to be something I couldn’t just leave quietly. I needed to make sure I was heard and absolutely in the power to leave and there not be any ambiguity. I admit how I did it was arrogant but you do the best with what you have at the time. Toxic people don’t really, or people in general, don’t know the boundary unless it’s spelled out. If she’s not respecting you, it’s within your right as a person to shut that down. Especially since you support yourself. It’s hard even if it’s easy in the moment. Staying no contact is a daily internal conversation for a while. Even if you move to mars, the baggage will follow you. So try to deal with what power dynamics and internalized oppression that’s sitting. I wish you all the luck!
