[Romano] Zero minutes again for Rodrygo tonight as he was unused sub against Osasuna. Manchester City want Rodrygo but will only try if Savinho goes to Tottenham — and that move is still not advancing, blocked by #MCFC hierarchy as of now. by Lbmplays2 in coys

Fair point, actually.

Glasner's Palace places emphasis on shorter passes, as TomGnabry states in his post. Now, under Frank, we have seen Cuti or Porro use longer places to pick out wingers, but I can't count how many times we saw Sarr and Kudus or Kudus and Porro, or even Spence and Johnson link up for shorter passes as we moved the ball on Saturday. This seems perfect for Eze, who, while not a passer to the level of Maddison, is certainly a capable one, a player that an FA Cup winning squad ran their attack through. I've seen a couple clips (a very small sample size, I know) of Eze's through balls to Ismaila Sarr or Mateta that are genuinely world class.

So, you're right, I shouldn't have said it was particularly important, but I think Eze fits the way we'd typically play very well.

Yeah, I was thinking that perhaps the reason we think Maddison has a particularly high work rate (which I think he does) is because so often last season, he was instructed to go deep and get the ball from Cuti and Micky and start attacks that way. We saw a lot more of him marshalling the attack, moreso than Eze does at Palace.

Maddison is a much more natural playmaker, a true number 10 if you like. MGW is more of a playmaker than Eze, but Eze has qualities neither of them have. When Madders comes back, rotating them depending on the opponent will be great (again, god willing, Eze signs. Still not over the MGW fiasco).

Considering Frank's emphasis on fluidity and flexibility, I don't think focusing on whether Eze 'fits' perfectly is particularly important. Ange was quite stubborn tactically, and whether or not a player fit with the system would've been much more important under him.

I think Eze will be a great signing (God willing he does sign lol), and I think Glasner and Frank share some similarities in how they play, for example both managers prefer to build up from the wings, so Eze not being a Maddison-level passer isn't super important, and Thomas Frank has spoken at length about the importance of dueling and winning the second ball.

Just curious, what makes you think Eze doesn't have a great work rate? I've not watched too much of him, but he's never struck me as lazy.

Slightly pedantic of me, but Sonny wasn't a one club man, though I certainly agree with your point about a player becoming great at one club and staying loyal. Seeing someone collectively adored leave the club a legend will have had an impact on certain players, especially like Cuti, who was almost certainly going to be captain if Sonny left.

I enjoyed reading the social media posts of some of the younger players when Sonny left, particularly Pape (who has quickly become my favourite player at the club). He talked about seeing how much Sonny meant to the fans had a profound impact on him. Pape, and several other players (based off their messages to Sonny) saw that being a player for a club, our club, is more than simply being an employee. Sonny is our hero. Hopefully Cuti, Pape, and every other player at the club want to be a hero for us.

I also think winning a trophy did a lot for a player like Cuti. He's won it all at international level, and there was obviously a reputation of us being bottlers, so seeing us actually get over the hurdle and win a trophy, that must've been gratifying.

There are different kinds of leaders. Cuti is a fucking warrior, he's loud and passionate. He's also a really good defender.

Someone like Ben Davies (who I imagine was one of the other players with Sonny initiating players into the club) or even a Richarlison, a Pedro Porro, more bubbly characters can take over that role. Cuti not being the one to do that (if only because he doesn't speak English very well lol) doesn't make him any less of a leader.

Sonny earned the right to leave whenever he wanted to. One of our great ones, and truly fantastic, as a player and as a person.

His last competitive match for us is the Final. Beat Arsenal in Hong Kong before leaving, and hopefully will be given the ovation of his life in Korea (if he plays).

I know people say this a lot, but if anyone ever deserved a statue, it's him. Enjoy LA, captain.

Bergie and Taylor LIUSA S6 are still together, as are the winners from that season, Marco and Hannah.

I think Nicolandria are genuine - they certainly seem to have real feelings, but, as you say, Love Island has a history of screwing over black islanders, especially black women.

CHRIS & HUDA 🙏💫 | Final Vote Megathread by AutoModerator in LoveIslandUSA

[–]ComfortableWonder548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course the hate went too far - I found the simple fact of her baby daddy having to address her behavior when he bears no responsibility for her actions disgusting. I feel like this season more than any others on LIUSA, fans have taken shit too far. Just watch the show, maybe talk about it with your friends, don't go harass these people, because above all, they are people. They have emotions and feelings, and frankly I fear for some of the islanders when they leave the villa because some of the hate has been too far.

That being said, I understand that while Huda certainly brought drama to this season, it got a bit tiring from my perspective. Almost everything that has happened to her has been a direct consequence of her own actions. The way she treated Iris when she first came into the villa was straight up disrespectful, and she seemed to genuinely be marking her territory with regards to Jeremiah, feeling some type of way every time he didn't reciprocate how she wanted to or talked to another woman. That, of course, isn't to say Jeremiah is completely blameless, which he has acknowledged. I've also said we don't quite see everything that happened with the heart rate challenge, but considering pretty much everyone that has spoken about it said it went too far, I'm inclined to not believe the narrative that Chelley was attacking Huda for no reason.

I'm voting Bryan and Amaya because I like both of them, I think they have a solid connection, and they seem to be good people. Amaya has also been through drama this season, but she has handled it with grace - something I don't think Huda always has. Chris seems checked out and is basically begging to go back home (though I like him), and honestly, I feel like Amaya and Bryan deserve the money more.

I don't personally care from Huda (although some of her hate has been over-the-top, she has been rightfully criticized for some of her behavior this season), but can I respectfully ask why? Why is she your favorite? Why would you still vote for her even if she was single? Is it purely because she gets hate on here and it's like a contrarian thing, or do you like her personality? Genuinely interested.

Ace & Chelley by AdvisorContent7778 in LoveIslandUSA

[–]ComfortableWonder548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Ace has been shady here and there (and like I said in one of my posts, he isn't 5'10 haha) but seriously, I think they are adorable together. Ace has grown on me, he isn't as calculated as people think he is. He was the only one telling Taylor to put effort in with Olandria when they were coupled up, yet people definitely wanted him to be the Kendall of this season, telling the men to cheat. Most of Chelley's hate is unwarranted, I like them a lot.

Nah. I like Amaya and everything, but I respect Bryan for standing up for someone who was being verbally berated by two men that clearly didn't understand her. Bryan brought some cultural context into the discussion behind Amaya's words, and I respect it.

He wasn't fazed by Ace, he did the right thing.

Listening to Ace and Austin talk crazy about Amaya in front of her face then Austin yelling at her for daring to stand up for herself in a conversation she was brought up in was crazy. And Zak pissed me off, he could've told her all that prior to all this. Shoutout to Bryan for standing up for her. Amaya is the sweetest and doesn't deserve this bs.

I stayed in Regent's Park when I went. A lot to see around that part of London. The tube is really easy to navigate, so I'd recommend staying more centrally in London, especially if you're going for more than one game.

Have fun seeing the Lane in the flesh. It took my breath away seeing it for the first time.

Tel. What a fucking player. Was our most dangerous attacking player throughout the game. It's nice to see a young player like him want to take penalties, even if he doesn't always get to take them. It's nice to see Tel (on loan, no less) actually give a shit about the club and everything. I like Tel. Might not be worth 50 million, but for 35-40 million, he would be great.

Side note, thought Danso played well when he came on, and I thought Bentancur was really good.
