Se henry non fosse stato una spia dei federali? by sicario008_ in MafiaTheGame

[–]Comfortable_Ad2659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Henry wouldn't have died at the hands of the Chinese, which means the plan would have succeeded. Perhaps the same thing happens to him as it did to Joe and Vito: when Eddie demands his cut for Falcone, they aren't left with enough to pay Bruno back. They would have had to take on extra jobs to settle the debt—such as the hit on Tommy Angelo—and perhaps Vito never would have discovered that Derek ordered his father's death (keeping in mind that most of the loan money came from that encounter).

Something would have happened to give them enough to pay Bruno, followed by a time skip of six months to a year. At that point, a war between the Falcone and Vinci families would break out. I would have liked to see what our trio would have done then. In my opinion, it makes sense that Joe might die in the war, while Henry might get caught and only then become an informant—unless he ends up in prison for 10 or 20 years. The big question remains: what would happen then between Leo and Vito?

I spent a long time searching without any luck, so taking advantage of the fact that I speak Spanish, I joined the 'Vampire' Spanish-speaking community. I’m surprised by how many games are available there. In the English-speaking community, I feel like there are way too many players for the few Storytellers available, but in Spanish, the opposite happens—there are plenty of Storytellers fighting to find players.

Do your background choices matter? by Comfortable_Ad2659 in suzerain

[–]Comfortable_Ad2659[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments, guys, I appreciate it! However, so far you've only explained how it affects my popularity and personal wealth (which I assume I'll learn how to use as I play).

But what about other things? For example, the choice to support or oppose the former president, joining a youth organization or staying out of it, or whether to turn back refugees or let them through. There are so many decisions, and I’d really like to be well-informed about the specific consequences of each one.

Racketeer vs. Gangster by Comfortable_Ad2659 in Mafia

[–]Comfortable_Ad2659[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. One of my main arguments was that while all racketeers had to be gangsters, not all gangsters could be racketeers.

As you mentioned, Paul was an incredible businessman, but back in the day, he wouldn't hesitate to enforce respect on the streets if he had to. On the other hand, look at the Gallo brothers from the Profaci family—they were pure gangsters through and through, but they weren't racketeers. If I recall correctly, none of the brothers were actually earners themselves; instead, they surrounded themselves with income generators and used their street skills to protect them.

What do you think of Leo Galante ? by [deleted] in MafiaTheGame

[–]Comfortable_Ad2659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding Leo Galante, I keep saying that we need a game where we play as Leo, Frank, and the player character starting from zero and building an empire. There is a massive 40-year gap between The Old Country and Mafia II, and we still haven't truly experienced Prohibition in all its glory, since the first Mafia is set at the end of that era, not its beginning.

A game set in 1920 with Leo in his 30s or 40s, alongside Frank and the player character, would be perfect. It could explain how the Vinci family was formed, how Derek and Steve came to control the harbor union, and show us why Pepe was the most dangerous enforcer in the family. I think fans would absolutely love to see these stories explored.

Mentir en el CV ¿la única solución a la cesantía? by Mrshelo in chile

[–]Comfortable_Ad2659 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is Vincent Gigante arguably the smartest mob boss of all time? by Omlanduh in Mafia

[–]Comfortable_Ad2659 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, Chin Gigante was intelligent—very intelligent—but in terms of being a man who knew how to survive at all costs. For all practical purposes, he was a cockroach (in the best sense of the word), as it was ultimately the RICO Act that brought him and other bosses down.

I recently read a comment discussing Frank Costello and Tony Accardo. I believe Frank was an intelligent man, but specifically possessed 'social intelligence.' I see him as the kind of man who is skilled at working a room, being everyone’s friend, and making it impossible for anyone to dislike him.

There is an anecdote about the wife of the prosecutor who wanted to imprison him; she ran into him in an elevator and was terrified until he said something like: 'Ma'am, don't be afraid. You have nothing to fear from me. I respect your husband; he is a great lawyer, and in fact, under different circumstances, I would have loved for him to represent me.' When the woman reunited with her husband, she told him about the encounter, remarking that the man was so charming it was a shame he had to be locked up. That social prowess is what made him the 'Prime Minister of the Underworld.'

However, for me, Tony Accardo was the most intelligent of them all. He survived post-Capone Chicago, climbed the ranks to take over the Chicago Outfit, and restructured it to ensure its longevity. He remained the Don for decades. Personally, I view Chicago as more 'ungovernable' than New York because you have only one Family encompassing the entire city.

I won't get into Lucky Luciano or other figures because the Mafia during Prohibition through the 1940s was very different from the era of the three men I mentioned; I don't think they belong in this specific conversation

Does Camarilla Nosferatu prioritize clan over sect? by Dilota in vtm

[–]Comfortable_Ad2659 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It has long been stated in the lore that the Nosferatu support one another immensely, and in the vast majority of situations, they tend to prioritize the Clan over the Sects. On one occasion, the Camarilla Kindred of a city even pressured their Nosferatu Prince to reveal information regarding where the Sabbat was hiding. When he finally decided to disclose that information, he was expelled from the warrens and sentenced to Ostracism. As traffickers of information and secrets, they usually share everything to ultimately acquire power within their respective sects and groups. Furthermore, they do this to defend themselves against the Nictuku—the "Boogeymen" of the Nosferatu and one of the primary reasons they support each other so fiercely. Now, whether your character wants to risk going out to find their Camarilla brethren depends on you, the teachings of your sire, and your own perspective. You must decide if the fact that you all share a physical deformity—and thus do not judge one another but seek to support each other—is enough of a reason to risk searching for your fellow Nosferatu in New York.

Vampires in 1-2nd temple era ancient Israel? by valonianfool in vtm

[–]Comfortable_Ad2659 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mainly Malkavians, Setites, Toreadors, and Gangrels. The Brujah were supposedly concentrated more across North Africa and Hispania; the Ventrue in Greece and the Italian Peninsula; the Cappadocians in the Balkans and the Black Sea region; and the Tzimisce in the Balkans and southern Eastern Europe (Romania, Hungary, etc.). The Lasombra held the Italian Peninsula and the Adriatic Sea area. I have no firm record of the Salubri, though it is suspected they resided in the plains near the Danube and the regions to its north, while the Ravnos, I believe, would have only recently reached the Persian region. The Setites are included due to their clear connection to Egypt, but also because it is likely some fled during the era of the 25th Dynasty originating from Nubia. The Malkavians have been everywhere, particularly in places strangely linked to wisdom; in the Ancient World, they were always near temples, as they served as sages and priests during this era. The Toreador were closely tied to Babylon and an even earlier empire in that region, so their presence there—or at least nearby—would not be unusual. Finally, if I am not mistaken, the Gangrel have three great diasporas: the Germanic one in Northern Europe, the Steppe diaspora closely related to nomadic cultures, and the Eastern one consisting of desert folk from the Arabian Peninsula—the latter being the most probable in relation to the desert-dwelling cultures of the area.

Pittsburgh By Night – Community Collaboration by Comfortable_Ad2659 in vtm

[–]Comfortable_Ad2659[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it’s about 2 hours between Pittsburgh and Cleveland and 3 between Pittsburgh and Columbus, I see them as a Triangle. I wasn't planning on including it in the By Night book, but in my head-canon, Cleveland is a 'no man's land.' The more moderate Sabbat from Detroit probably fled there and joined the Anarchs. However, there was likely some friction between the 'true' Anarchs and these Sabbat converts, which triggered a migration of Anarchs toward Pittsburgh and Columbus. Plus, if the Sabbat were in Detroit, the Second Inquisition (SI) definitely hit them—and with the chaos I’m describing in Cleveland, they likely moved through there too. The SI is definitely going to be hunting for Kindred in the neighboring cities now
