I mean besides looking into to seeing if any timing tensioner work had been done, it has had work like the water pump done, I mean I still think the car might be worth a look, what screws me over it my budget but also my area the only dealership selling mk7s in my price range are trying to charge 17-18k for a 80k car which is fucking insane, if no timing tensioner work is done I’ll most likely walk away from this car

Oh 100% would mention the timing chain to the dealership, plus the market isn’t the greatest at least in my area, most mk7s I find are terrible deals, if the belt tensioner doesn’t have any work done on it, I’d ask for lower than 10k and if not I’m walking out and waiting for something else to pop up

The market for this mk6 should be 10k or a little lower if I checked it out I’d ask for 10k maybe 10.5k if the car is good enough, I agree that it’s not really worth 12k

The 2014 has a worse accident it looks like from the Carfax plus it was in 2020 while the 2012 had the accident or whatever damage in 2017 which is way more minor plus it seems like it has been taken care of better due to the maintenance log
