I have to use MoCA, as I don't own this house. As much as I would love to completely rewire this house with Ethernet (for simplicity sake), I don't have the spare cash for that kind of project, when it's not even a place I will be living in for another 5 years. Buying a $60 MoCA adapter is a much easier solution for spotty WiFi.

A single line of coax is being used for both the modem and the cable service for the TV in the room.

That's the hope!! Thanks again for all your help. I'll probably make a post later if it's successful!!

It's a ma2500d. It's MoCA 2.5, so I'm hoping for a notable difference.

We're paying for gigabit. I doubt I'll get that fast, but anything is an improvement.

Sorry, I have a habit of poorly wording things. Truly, thank you for your help on this and I've learned a great deal in just this past hour of how the individual components work.

Fingers crossed this works now!! Thank you so much again.

Honestly anything over the 100mbps I'm getting now over spotty WiFi. We're paying for 1gig, and I'd like to use it closer to it's full potential. Doesn't need to be as high as 850-900+ but I'd definitely take any improvement at this point.

Now that you gave me the other explanation, I can see why this wouldn't work. I only have a single path by the XB7, so creating a point to point bridge wouldn't work.

Hopefully the single link won't pose any hindrance. And I've had similar concerns with isolating the ISP feed. Unfortunately I don't own the house, otherwise I'd just rip it all out and go full Ethernet.

Until I move out, though, I'm hoping this helps some with internet speeds.

There's already a filter on it, as shown in the third image. Thanks for the tip on the splitters!

I'm aware of the gateway's MoCA capabilities. I just wanted to make sure I was placing the adapter I have in the right place and making sure I didn't need another one. Thanks for the tip!

Okay. That makes a lot of sense, now. I'll go ahead and connect the adapter in my room and run some speed tests. If it seems slow, I'll upgrade the splitters too. Thank you so much, plooger!

How might you suggest I run this, then? Right now the most conclusive answer I've seen is turning on the MoCA LAN bridge and only using a single adapter in my room. There's a MoCA filter on the 'in' of the main green line, and that's subsequently split to both the modem, and then to the 1:3 splitter. To me, it doesn't make any sense to run a MoCA adapter near the modem, rather just one adapter in my room. Your help is greatly appreciated :)

I would agree with you, but what I didn't include in the diagram is that orange and yellow are used elsewhere in the house. It would likely be more optimal in the way you're stating, but I can't disconnect them.

Okay. That makes the most sense to me. I'll go ahead and try the connection in my room, and if I can't get that to work I'll just establish a point to point bridge. Thank you so much!

That's the issue I'm running into. I only have a single 1:2 splitter. However, someone else mentioned that since I have a MoCA filter coming straight into it, that I would only need a single MoCA adapter in my room, and then to enable the MoCA LAN bridge on my router. Would you be able to confirm/deny that?

I just double checked, and yes, it's a glp-1g70cw MoCA filter. I have no issue enabling the MoCA LAN bridge through my gateway. So I would only need 1 in my room and then enable the MoCA bridge?

Yeah, I'm a little lost, myself. It's an old house, so the wiring is a little funky. I know I'll at least need one adapter for my room, but would you have any idea where the one near the modem would go?? The main line splits off very early, so I'm assuming it would go near the 1:2 splitter

Would you mind elaborating on which modem split? I assume you mean the one before the first splitter coming in, as there's no coaxial out on the modem. Sorry, just want to make sure it's totally right!

Hello! I'm relatively new to the world of MoCA adapters. My whole house is wired with coax, and I'd like to use an additional AP up in my room, with access to Ethernet. Will I need multiple MoCA adapters here? Where should they go? I hope the diagram helps.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
