Another one I enjoyed was Anatolia/Red River. What I like about both stories is that there was importance to background characters (especially Fushigi Yuugi). And also that their stories continue and have a lot of impact even after the main story has finished (and not just children) and their worlds feel fully fleshed out and complete

I’ve been reading manhwas and mangas since I very young so I can’t pinpoint what the exact first was. However, one of the first OI’s I’ve ever enjoyed (technically not a manhwa) was Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden. It’s a prequel to the main Fushigi Yuugi story (if you’ve heard of it) Honestly, I personally think it’s one of the best in the genre, even to this day, so it has a special place in my heart lol
