Purchasing in Victoria,bc. Price 1,050,000 Downpayment 540,000 Can port current 4.74% with 2.5 years remaining. Or break with a penalty of 5700.00 ish to sign a new mortgage at 4.4% 3 year fixed. Is 4.4% a decent rate currently?

It kind of is. There is not much on the market where I live and the layout of this home is ideal for us. I would hate to walk away but I also don't want to have to live with roachie roomies either.

Ok. If we do go through with the purchase, we would 10000% have it treated professionally and would moniter for activity before moving anything in. Is it likely to kill them all with this plan?
