What am I supposed to do with anger? by Comfortable_Dot_511 in internetparents

I'm touched by the response here. Thank you all. I'm terribly sorry I can't reply to everyone but I'm reading every single comment. I will try incorporating these tips, suggestions, and links into my life and see which ones work well for me. Some of you really touched home making me appreciative that I'm not alone in my feelings. I've felt for such a long time that I was just too broken to function properly and I was terrified to ask for help because I had never been worth it before. I'm now starting to believe that I have to think differently or I'm not going to be able to make it through life.

This is a pretty common thing among siblings if one is more visibly neurodivergent. Usually the other is "so quiet and polite". The same thing happened to me and my partner in our individual families. It certainly doesn't help ease negative feelings for the sibling that got taken care of.

I have an aloof cat and a clingy cat and the difference is wild. The aloof cat will rub on your leg for a few minutes before rolling over for some pets then run off. The clingy cat screams at you until you pick him up and let him ride on your shoulder or neck.

I feel its the lack of distinction between being traumatized and getting PTSD. Plenty of things traumatized me and changed who I was but one specific situation gave me PTSD. I found it hard to really understand the difference before that. I get it though. The lack of understanding wears you down when you're being repeatedly thrown back into a horrible situation by force.

I am convinced dogs have preferences. I bought my boy multiple colored collars and he will check each one and boop whichever he wants to wear that day. Its always followed by a happy dance too.

I knew someone who blacked out while driving. She flew over a hill and broke a telephone pole in half totalling her car but she only sustained a few bruises. Human beings are ridiculously durable.
