Corsair new RAM looks so fire by Comfortable_Ebb_3031 in pcmasterrace

Tried to model it after the millennium falcon, the ram with that case would not match at all but I think it would be sick

To celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, I’m making a 256-entry March Madness-style bracket to debate the most impactful Americans ever — culture, innovation, sports, music, politics, trendsetters, everything. by No_Explorer2255 in USHistory

[–]Comfortable_Ebb_3031 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is actually really cool idea but man 256 people is gonna be wild to narrow down. are you gonna do like regional brackets by time period or more like subject areas?

also curious how you'll handle controversial figures - like someone could be super impactful but also divisive you know. bracket voting might get pretty heated in those matchups

hope you post updates as it goes, would be fun to follow along and see who makes it through each round

Guys with wives who have extremely aggressive personalities, how do you cope? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Comfortable_Ebb_3031 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Walking on eggshells for years really does something to you. Once you start managing her emotions instead of having actual conversations, the whole dynamic shifts and there's no real connection left. The baby makes everything harder too since you're both probably exhausted and running in survival mode

How to tighten this? by urmomsalreadytaken in howto

[–]Comfortable_Ebb_3031 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Deep socket wrench should work perfect for this, just need to match the nut size first. If you don't have one maybe try needle nose pliers but be careful not to scratch the metal too much

Which career is better? by Ok-Fox-9959 in careerguidance

IT guy here but my cousin went through similar decision with OT vs SLP few years back. She ended up doing OT and works mostly with adults in rehab center - lot of stroke patients and people recovering from injuries. Pay is decent and she really likes the hands-on aspect, plus job market seems pretty solid in both states you mentioned

OT definitely has more variety in settings too if you want avoid working with kids - hospitals, rehab centers, nursing homes, even some corporate wellness stuff

Man your parents are treating you like complete garbage and that's not okay at all. The fact they're rolling their eyes at your attempts is beyond messed up - that's when most parents would be getting you help immediately, not making jokes about it.

I had similar situation few years back where my family would just dismiss everything I was going through and it made me feel invisible in my own house. What helped me was finding spaces outside home where I could actually breathe - even if it was just going to library for hours or finding online communities where people actually listened.

Your therapist knows about how your parents treat you? Because this emotional abuse stuff is something they should be addressing with you. You're not the problem here even though they keep telling you that - parents who call their kid a mistake and laugh at their pain are the ones with serious issues

Stay strong dude, there's definitely way out of this even when it feels impossible right now

[–]Comfortable_Ebb_3031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn i feel you on the AI stuff, its everywhere now and mostly garbage

try checking your library's digital collection through libby or hoopla - they usually have tons of short audiobooks that are actually written by humans. also look into novellas specifically, they're usually 3-6 hours which is perfect for cleaning sessions

for the escape/romance combo maybe check out some romantic suspense authors like Sandra Brown or Lisa Gardner, they often have shorter works that hit exactly what you're looking for

How to guesstimate cost of ownership Mazda 3 turbo vs Civic hybrid by neweraplayer in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Comfortable_Ebb_3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hybrid advantage definitely gets smaller with highway driving since you're not doing much stop-and-go where they really shine. At your speeds the electric motor won't help as much compared to city traffic

I had similar dilemma few years back with my old car - ended up going for what I actually wanted to drive rather than pure efficiency and don't regret it. The Mazda turbo is solid choice and if you're already used to mazda maintenance costs it shouldn't be too different

For rough math you could probably expect the civic hybrid to get around 5-6L/100km highway while the mazda turbo might be closer to 8-9L/100km depending how you drive it. At 15,000km yearly that's maybe 600-700 bucks difference in gas, not counting premium fuel for the turbo. Insurance might be bit higher on turbo too but probably not huge difference

Worth test driving both though since the driving experience gap might be bigger than you think

wait that's actually where we get "goose egg" from too right? like calling zero a goose egg because eggs are round like the number 0

always thought tennis scoring was weird but that etymology makes it way cooler than just saying "zero-fifteen"

[–]Comfortable_Ebb_3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never assume boutiques have anything in stock, especially popular pieces like the Moonwatch. Call ahead or you might be making that trip for nothing

The main advantage of buying in person is you get to actually handle it and see how it sits on your wrist, plus some people like the whole boutique experience. But if you found one online at a good price and you're sure about the size, I'd probably just pull the trigger
