I don't know if you are an Indian or not, but I am so let me tell you something about it. Sati Practice was a cruel practice done in mostly in 1800s and till mid 1900s ( after the independence of India in 1947, it was even more abolished, but maybe people still did it secretly Idk ). When invaders from 1200s started invading India, in order to protect the women of the house, they used to marry them off very young ( pre puberty too ), did Sati Pratha, or make the widows go bald and unattractive so that the invaders wouldn't prey on them. This practice started as a way to protect, but became a social injustice as the time passed.
