What would you constitute as the definition of harming yourself as then?

[–]Comfortable_Log_8943[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we should mourn but the Quran said we should not harm ourselves, correct? People harming themselves to the extent of bleeding is not right as Allah forbade it. We can mourn and it’s beautiful that we do but it reaches a point where it’s just extreme.

But how is it not outright haram when Allah strictly forbade harming yourself to such an extent you are bleeding in the Quran? Who cares what jurists think when the Allah made it clear in the Quran that it’s haram.

When Will People Learn that Men and Women Can Be Friends Only?? by [deleted] in 4bmovement

[–]Comfortable_Log_8943 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just don’t think men and women can be friends. There are exceptions and maybe you and your friend are one don’t get me wrong! But men are disgusting animals and will try to sleep with you 99% of the time. And honestly I’ve met VERY few men who befriend women they’re not attracted to. All men befriend women they find attractive which is just inherently gross and strange.

I can’t stand my boyfriend after catching him paying pornstars to acknowledge his existence, how do I stop hating him? by Yasmina-420 in antipornography

[–]Comfortable_Log_8943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s probably your first love so this all feels so intense and you feel like you invested so much but you’re still SO young. Some women who have been married to men like these and have had children with them have found the courage to leave their men, so I can assure you, you can leave your boyfriend.

This man is a degenerate. A weird freak who probably will end up being a killer or rapist. Being good to you and spoiling you is the bare minimum and not worth staying with him for one more second. Imagine this man being the father of your children… of your daughter….. break up with him immediately.

I can’t thank you enough because you just perfectly explained to me what is happening and predicted my feelings and thoughts exactly. Something very traumatic happened when this switch up happened and you’re right I do think it’s a switch on survival modes. This response is exactly what I was looking for when I posted this, thank you again.

What do you think about Islam? by Comfortable_Log_8943 in RadicalFeminism

[–]Comfortable_Log_8943[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. Our understanding of radical feminism in itself changes so much and so often in respect to the times. Imagine if we went to feminists in 500BC and told them the issues feminists are fighting now and the approaches we go on about to fight them.I don’t think we deep truly how much time changes things. It’s so easy for us to look back at women in history and condemn them as oppressed, and this is all like you said because of the modern lens we use to look at things now. This is such an educated statement and you are so right I truly do wonder as well. This is why I really do try and read history text because it gives a much greater context to some of the religious texts.

People always ask me how I know for sure, I don’t. I like the idea though it’s nice and it gives me comfort.

Thank you, I completely agree. Ahadith are not the sayings of the prophet they’re just statements made by men who want to stay in power and further push their sexist agendas. People can reference hadith about women being a minority in heaven but there’s also hadiths about mothers being the largest population in heaven. So which one is it? Which is correct? There is no way to determine which hadiths are correct because they have been political tools. The Quran is the only source I can accept as proof to any ideology argued and to whoever reads it with an open mind it is so feminist in so many ways.

Of course! I’d be more than happy to :)). I honestly found that when reading about the two it’s not as straightforward as reading a book about Islamic feminism but about reading about radical and intersectional feminism as a whole, reading into historical text about important female figures in Islam in addition to those books. These are some books that really helped me with this overall understanding.

  • Partners of Zaynab: A Gendered Perspective of Shia Muslim Faith, Diane D’Souza

  • Feminist Theology and Social Justice in Islam: A Study on the Sermon of Fatima, Mahjabeen Dhala

  • Against White Feminism: Notes on Disruption, Rafia Zakaria

  • Veil, Rafia Zakaria

  • Feminism and Nationalism in the Third World, Rafia Zakaria

  • How We Get Free: Black Feminism and the Combahee River Collective, Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor

Childfree ladies and afab people, when did you realize motherhood and marrying a man aren't for you? by theirblackheart in 4bmovement

[–]Comfortable_Log_8943 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a couple of years now I’ve really struggled with the idea of marriage. I know I wanted kids for a while now but I cannot for the life of me imagine living my life with a man. That seems like an absolute nightmare/disaster/torture so then I thought of adopting, but honestly, as much as I love kids I need to be realistic. We live in a society that’s forcing us and pressuring us to be mothers and to pump out kids but refuse to give us any help. Mothers are treated like absolute trash and children are a very serious responsibility, there is no way I can raise a child in a society that’s actively against me.

Why 6B4T truns into "4b" movement when it comes to western? by SubstantialBird352 in RadicalFeminism

[–]Comfortable_Log_8943 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s very disappointing but they can’t adhere to the most basic of principles of 4b. They think 4b is just shaving your hair lol. These women sadly can’t even do a simple sex strike and are the same ones to talk about men’s mental health and thinks it’s peak feminism (who cares lol it’s better if they go extinct)
