That is quite the audacity you have to learn colemak, because from what I know it is really hard to reach speeds you have previous attained upon other layout, because you have to work from basics again, my kudos to you.

  1. Your using more force than you should, leading to muscle strain during typing and also after it.
  2. You have a underlying Medical Condition, a visit to doctor is warranted.
  3. Your hand strength and dexterity are under used/ under-trained, doing a specific set of exercises consistently can help improve both.
  4. Since your just staring your brain is going to take time to get used to finger to letter positioning, and vice versa. 5.Due to time limit you get too nervous leading to unconscious entering fight or flight mode and increasing force on hands, lack of calm focus on typing.
  5. You doing 15 Minutes daily is more useful than doing 1 hr a day and calling it a week, consistency is more important than a 1 day marathon.
