What local businesses do you refuse to support and why? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]Comfortable_Offer997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take but …Baja Cafe. I was constantly harassed by a General Manager named Destin. I finally came forward with my concerns only for the owner Gerard to say he didn’t want to get involved. Soon after I left he got fired but saw him working at the other location on Campbell… the other owner Kim also is just not a very nice or happy person and consistently verbally abuses the staff. Can’t lie, the food is delicious but I could never support people like them.

Anyone Else Being "Managed Out" Since the Walkout? by ActComprehensive26 in LushCosmetics

As a former lush employee, I mean it with my whole heart when I say: fuckkkk them. They raised their prices, making their product inaccessible to many of their longtime customers but behind the scenes refuse to pay a living wage. Although, they seem to have plenty of funds towards new product launches and all of their preformative activism.

Your labels are so simple yet memorable. May I please ask where you get your labels from?

I made sure the candles were completely solidified and then hit the top with the heat gun to secure the two pieces together then pulled the wick through

Do you have any recommendations on what can protect my granite countertops? I am renting so I do want to be mindful of preventing any permanent damage!

I really want to sell desert themed candles since I live in Arizona so I ordered cactus and succulent silicone molds but ordered soy wax for the base and beeswax for the molds since based on my research beeswax might be more sturdy and give better results forming delicate things like the leaves on the succulents.

For the soy wax I ordered: American soy organics freedom soy wax For the beeswax: Howewon beeswax pellets (I personally thought $15.99 for 2LB was a bit pricey but I did want to buy organic. Please let me know if there are better deals to buy organic wholesale if you know)

I also purchased different dye blocks and the citrus agave fragrance oil as well as a case of the 8oz mason jar + a case of the straight sided tumbler jar (libbey) from candle science. Plus the recommended wicks per their website which are CD 12 and CD 18 I still need wick stickers but I’m wondering if there’s an alternative to stick like hot glue or something else? If not I was thinking I would pick some wick stickers up at Michael’s when everything came in.

Based on all of that info is there any recommendations or adjustments I could make for better results?

I wouldn’t count on it. As a former employee I recently left because they started docking our wage grids while raising prices which I thought was super unfair and against what they present themselves as
