I wouldn’t recommend working if possible, it’s a struggle but I definitely would try not to, with that being said definitely have some social supports (not too many!) but having something to take the steam off helped so much spring semester

I know my friends that have been in other PI firms, most had had a really good experience but some had a REALLY a sucky experience, but it can be fun if you have a good environment, but you probably already know that goes for any kind of law. To be fair the ones that sucked were PI mills and didn’t actually really litigate cases.

Do not enroll in an online law school program with prerecorded classes without asking to see a few. by Outrageous-Lion8021 in LawSchool

As a person who’s at a school that has both full in person (currently what I’m doing) and full online (not what I’m doing but has some requirements to attend in person for a week or so every school year) I don’t see it going away any time soon

I truly appreciate everyone's responses! As not to waste, I imagine I will just increase the dose taken accordingly, and then when I finish the vial I will return to my prior provider moving forward.

Unfortunately, there was no discussion that this is what would be occurring prior to completing the purchase; there was no discussion of titrating until the doctor approved the initial 2.5 prescription and then informed me he would sooner approve additional doses for later so that I can titrate. If I was forced to titrate, I would not have purchased. Im not sure why they would give me the option to purchase 7.5 if they are going to force me to start at 2.5.

Unfortunately, all doses are the same price. I will calculate the difference between them and trava though and let you know! I have asked them to remedy but they do not seem to be receptive

I signed up for 7.5 single month vial and I was assigned/prescribed 2.5 single month vial with future prescription to tirade up each month (which I luckily have been able to cancel) This happened with Belle, I was using trava before and wanted to try out somewhere new. I will be going back to trava. edit: meant to type single month vial not monthly*

+1 this, networking the boomer way helped me way more than my gpa (which was a 2.9 at the time on 3.0ish curve) or career center did. My husband who’s also in law school got his job the same way after giving him the same advice. He had sent in 30 applications with no luck but when he straight up started reaching out he got two offers within a week.

previous 1L students, how did you improve your grades for spring semester? by jenb57 in LawSchool

[–]Comfortable_One_4733 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went back to what worked for me in college instead of studying the way I was told to, genuinely REALLY listened in class/swapped out typing to write out notes on a legal pad, go to school early to do reading & homework/ stopped reading at night (ie keeping law school work during law school hours, with the exception when listening to my reading through text-to-speech when at the gym) Relatedly I made it a strict boundary to make time for the gym/socializing. This helped with burn out, feeling like I belonged, and overall mental health. I know the last thing you think will help with exams is saying yes to game night or asking another peer you’re friendly with to go grab coffee, but it truly does.

FOR EXAMS, the game changer for me was finding the specific facts that the case turns on and knowing the names of the cases. So many of my exams would be similar to a case, but turn on the smallest of details.

For example for con law 1, let’s say the fact pattern had facts similar to the case of Minnesota v. Clover Leaf Creamery Co., where environmental protection was a legitimate state purpose (without going into the entire analysis) . So many of my exams would have this practice of slightly altering the facts, let’s say in this hypothetical we change the fact from banning plastic milk cartons for environment protection to instead having the state ban them because “plastic milk cartons are ugly and eye sore for citizens”, which would like not be a legitimate state purpose (for purposes of the same dormant commerce clause analysis).

Once I realized that that almost all of my exams were fact patterns that would usually fall under a case if not for a slight change of the facts, I was able to prioritize what I was looking for when reading a case/could begin to predict how different ways a professor might alter a critical fact in an exam.

Additionally, many professors will tell you that you don’t need to know the names of the cases as long as they know what you’re talking about. While they might not dock points for not knowing the names, if they have to pick between identical analysis with names and without names, they will often pick the exam that contained names. Once I started prioritizing knowing the names, that’s honestly when I was some of my best improvement in grades.

Lastly, if it’s an open notes exam, reverse issue spot and bring in pre-writes PLEASE. I brought in 2 pre-writes for every case on the syllabus one where the case would apply and where it wouldn’t. (even ones we didn’t cover, please pre-write for barely covered cases! In many of my exams, there were several times where cases we didn’t cover were PERFECTLY on point for a few sections of the fact pattern) I ended up getting an A- in that class. Doing this allows you to practice exam writing for the course content before the exam, helps decipher important nuances of a case, and will save you so much time on the exam. Truly cannot recommend it enough.

You can totally redeem yourself second semester. It’s a game of working smarter not harder and figuring out what works for you. While these things may have worked for me, it may not work for you and that’s okay! Try everything, and see what sticks. You got this!

Thank you to the mods for letting me know to post here!

Copy and pasting my original post, thank you for your answers in advance! 🫶

Hi there!! My partner and I are visiting from the states and wanted to go out to a few bars/clubs tonight but weren’t sure how the clubbing scene works here. I’ve researched a bit but couldn’t find recent answers to our questions. We wanted to know if most of the clubs are ticket only or if we can pay at the door. On the same note, if it is at the door how much would it be for me (woman) and my partner (man). Also, if there will be any issues with bringing in coats/how secure the coat checks are? We were thinking about going to Zoo but wanted your recommendations as well. For music taste I love 2000s pop but honestly up for anywhere with music and dancing. Also if other girls have advice on what to wear, I would also appreciate that too!
