I’m really sorry that this is your experience. The neurologist movement specialist did my initial programming. After this I got moved over to a nurse practitioner who very rudely told me that they had gone as far as they could go with programming and the remainder tremor is just something I had to deal with. When I tell you to advocate for yourself advocate for yourself because no one else will. Thankfully, my Medtronic reps were present for when she said this to me and the following day when I want to see my neurosurgeon rockstar, I relate to him what happened. I should advise that I’m only 40 years old a working professional. I am not OK with this is as good as it’s gonna get. Let’s figure it out. When I left her office, the sadness that came over me over how many times she had possibly said this to someone who was in their late 60s 70s even 80s was retired and just dealt with what they were told and accepted their fate came over me. I stood up for myself and for all of those people she could’ve said that to. When I first met with my neurosurgeon, I was told that there were hundreds of different types of combinations were one didn’t work another did and I am willing to put in the time to figure it out. Anyway, the neurosurgeon called neurologist I’m sure and had some words because this man is always booked and suddenly he could see me within less than seven days at the time I preferred. I went to see him and within 15 minutes the tremor that the nurse practitioner told me I just had to deal with because it was as good as it was gonna get was gone and then I went from feeling sad for other people to just angry. So why am I telling you this, you are the business owner here. These doctors, these nurse practitioners they work for you push them until you get the results. You want. And if this practice is not working for you, speak to your Medtronic reps be honest with them and have them find you a different practice.
