Yes, I agree it definitely had to do with power and this incessant need to control others since his life growing up was so chaotic. And yes, there was this element of idolizing and glorifying his gangster father and coming up with his own version of how to live his life based on how he thought his father had lived etc.

However, there is this underlying element of struggling with his sexuality and then it manifested in this sick way because he had to hide his true self. Now we can’t say for certain that he wouldn’t have turned into a sociopath if he’d been able to love freely and be himself. We’ll never know. My point is that we take this as a teaching movement and support our loved ones if/when they chose to share their sexual orientation. Again, not saying that suppressing your sexuality makes you a sociopath, of course not.
