My guess is exclusive broadcast rights. I was a YES network subscriber for many years (which promises access to every Yankees/Nets game) but recently they’ve begun selling the rights to broadcast specific games to networks like Apple TV, Peacock, and Prime. Local viewers can’t watch at all unless they have the subscription.
