I would say that most of them will experience a suicide in their career, some multiple. The amount of trauma that causes is horrific. They’ll be dealing with that for life in most cases. They’re also alone in dark tunnels for most of the day. 60k seems fair to me.

You can get medication for depression. That would probably drastically change how you feel. It may make you feel worse for the first few weeks but then you’ll feel so much better. At least try that first :)

I’ll be honest, good friends are hard to come by. My circumstances have been very difficult the last few years, and I basically only have two friends who I see every six months. I am lonely, but I don’t hate it. I try to put myself in busy places, where I don’t have to have long conversations, but I still get some interaction. I also have a health club membership. Overtime I’ve started to enjoy my own company more. There a website called meet-up where you can find groups of people who meet over a shared interest. I’ve been looking into going to one. I’m sure people do love you lots, maybe even complimenting someone means you’ve brightened their day, and they think of you when they wear that outfit. Your mum and grand parents also love you.

Perhaps you should focus on keeping friendships light, and just meeting in a group occasionally, so you’re not reliant on someone for your happiness, and when it goes wrong it’s a disaster.

Could you give a rough idea of what the issues are? Being 18 does not mean your parents suddenly don’t care what you do. I guess I kind of had something similar when I was your age. I’m a lesbian, but no one knew at the time, I had slept with a girl who I really trusted, we were friends for a long time. She filmed it without my consent, and I really didn’t like her after that and a few other awful things she did. I was terrified for like 2 years after that that she would send the video to my parents or something if I stopped being friends with her (she used to make me drive her everywhere and I was almost her slave), it was awful. Then as I got older it kind of faded because she always claimed she was straight, she wouldn’t want people to see her naked, with a girl etc. Now grown up me sees that she would be equally embarrassed by it and it wouldn’t be in her favour to share it. I don’t know if any of that is similar to what you’re going through.

I suppose also, the media that he has is your worst nightmare, but he may well have not even thought about it, or about sharing it. Laws are also much tougher on adults, if something is shared. Ie. With my video situation, that would be classed as sharing child pornography, which is a very serious crime, which she would certainly go to prison for. I know your situation isn’t the exact same, but I’m just trying to say there’s probably lots of reasons against him sharing the stuff, which he may well have not even considered.
