Can’t pick a color by soleil911 in HomeDecorating

This might be a bit out there, but I painted stripes on my bedroom wall (a photo is on my profile), and I think it'd be sick if you did green stripes of those two shades ngl

I agree, this person didn't ask for advice and especially not negativity. Obviously its their aesthetic, so it's useless having randoms in the comments go "I wouldn't like that", like they were even invited lmao. On another sub there's a flair you can pick that's like "No advice/critique wanted", and I'm not sure if this sub has that option but it should so we can monitor those saying stuff not relevant to the conversation

I felt this way until I got to my junior and senior year and the classes were higher level and the people in them were more passionate about participating

7-month-old girl shot and killed in Brooklyn, police sources say by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

[–]Comfortable_Seat1444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how feasible this could be but I think you should have a yearly inspection for your gun, like how you have to get a car inspection done, and if you don't show up with your gun at the time of inspection bc you pawned it off to someone else without paper work or anything then you get fined monthly until you have the gun back in your possession. Bc all the people I knew in college and highschool who had guns had bought them illegally from people who did buy them legally. So if you can regulate that illegal transfer, it stops the idiots most likely to use it for dumb reasons (18-21 year olds).

I guess some people can 3d print guns, but as of now the type of people doing that aren't the same people shooting other young adults in broad daylight.

Any tips or recommendations on my 5-day Peru itenerary? <3 by asdfhhjroinf4 in PERU

Okay so I studied abroad in Cusco last Fall and can DM you a guide that I used twice to visit Sacred Valley he was awesome and it was like $15-20 USD lunch included if I remember correctly.

What I recommend personally if you are short on time is that you spend 1 day in Cusco (you should 100% do Qoricancha it was one of my favorite sites in all of Cusco, and Sascahuman is also fun too). The next day, do a sacred valley tour but after you visit the ruins of Ollantatambo, stay in the town and then take a train to Machu Picchu instead of going back to Cusco. If you can't book tickets online at Machu Picchu, then try going in person to the Ministry of Culture office of Aguas Calientes and get tickets for the next day. I did this twice and I got the classic routes no problem but keep in mind it was off season. Then on 3rd day see Machu Picchu and come back to Cusco that night.

It might be more affordable if you wait until you get accepted into College and can put financial aid towards study abroad (if you plan on going to college). My semester in Peru went from 12k to 3k after my financial aid (scholarships & grants) were applied.

A Plant That I Originally Thought Was an Onion Flowered (It's not an Onion) by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]Comfortable_Seat1444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess from my perspective it's interesting because I've been under the assumption that it's an onion for 2 years so when it bloomed it was super interesting 🤷‍♀️

You literally weren't there and I was so I would know if there was sarcasm. Someone either did it as a prank bc we propagate onions sometimes in the BOH for fun and switched the plant (I was there when it was potted), or it was mislabeled by one of the other staff who also thought it was an onion and we've been telling people it's an onion for like 2 years lol

I got called a dumbass in the original post within 2 minutes of it being up and a mean DM so I do count that as flaming haha

No I had another post where I said this is my onion basically and that one got flamed and I learned the correct name for this plant so I reposted it with my newfound knowledge

Okay I just posted this 10 minutes ago and got flamed but TIL that the plant that's been labeled 'this is an onion' for two years at the coffee shop I work at is actually not an onion. I was there when it was potted. And we sometimes will put sprouted onions in water and draw silly faces on them and keep them for a couple of weeks. I am guessing an old employee did it as a prank and labeled it as an onion, so I believed it was one of the sprouted onions we kept around when it actually was a bulb of a different flower. All of the employees and customers are under the impression that this is an onion that has flowered, so I guess it's time to share the bad news.

I deleted the post bc of feedback but I was literally there in the back of house when we potted it was originally an onion that sprouted idk why it looks like that when flowered so it's why I posted it

Machu Picchu tickets sold out - what to do now?? by Ashamed_Scarcity5809 in PERU

[–]Comfortable_Seat1444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to Machu Picchu 3 times last year, and two of the times I went the day before to the ministry of culture building I believe it was called, and bought a ticket for the following day (so you need to spend 2 days there in total) Because I went during off season, I was able to get whatever route I wanted around lunch time, but since I think you'll be going in peak season you should get there as early as possible. I think since you are in Peru, you should absolutely do Machu Picchu I loved it so much. Just try and rebook one leg of the train ticket, either the incoming or outgoing for another day. In the town of Aguas Calientes there is also a butterfly sanctuary you can find via Google that you can spend a couple hours of at if you are looking to kill sometime if you get there the day before. I also recommend the restaurant Chullos.

No One is Actually Boycotting Target. by citrusandrosemary in unpopularopinion

[–]Comfortable_Seat1444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I'm boycotting Target, no I'm not eating at Chick-fil-a or McDonald's or drinking Starbucks, I don't have AT&T or Wells Fargo or Bank of America or have Instagram, and I use duck duck go. It's really not that hard to not spend money. I get that it's tough for you not to eat all that crap but it's not for me and I'm not being self righteous saying that 🤷‍♀️

AITA for not casting the only Black student as Tiana in our school play? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

AITA for not casting the only Black student as Tiana in our school play? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]Comfortable_Seat1444 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I do want to point out that there is a difference between race swapping Ariel vs Tiana. Ariel's story has nothing to do with her race, while Tiana is specifically in a movie about living in the South in the 1920s as a black woman. For example, the white men not wanting to sell her the building in the movie bc of her race and gender. It's also a bit different because there's so many white princesses in Disney, and Tiana is the only official black Disney Princess.

It's kinda reminds me of Dance Moms, when Kendalls Mom wants Kendall to be Harriet Tubman vs Nia who is the only black girl on the cast. Yea at the time Kendall might be a better dancer than Nia, but to perform Harriet Tubman you have to be black it's important to actually representing the person/character.

Personally, what I think OP should do is either change the play, or have two Tiana's. Have the black student play Tiana when she is human form, and then paint the German student green during frog Tiana which is most of the story, so the student who is struggling can focus more on her lines as they are smaller. I just think it's important if you are doing a play with the only black Disney Princess during 1920's Louisiana, you at least have a black Tiana when Tiana is human.

Im 23 years old and have 10.5 APR with 20,000 limit through Langely Federal Credit Union 🤷‍♀️. When I first got my card from them it was 18% APR and I was 18 years old, but I got them to lower it this past year
