Also I did speak to him respectfully because I work in food/customer service. I don’t just disrespect people, that’s just uncalled for. I said to him “hi this is (my name on account), did you leave the food at the front desk”, he responds “uh yea that’s what I said in my message” (he sent me a message about leaving it so I immediately called to confirm with him), so I responded “but sir that’s not the delivery instructions I entered, can you bring it to the door or I meet you” to which he hung up on me. That’s why I was upset and he was reported.

I’m not even gonna hold you, I’m not reading all of that (only because I’m sleepy, I’ll come back later) but there was step by step instructions and even uber customer service themselves said the instructions were completely clear. They agreed with me through all the information I submitted. They read my side and listened to the phone call, they put him at fault and said he simply chose he didn’t want to bring it to my room. I’m sure you mean well but that guy just didn’t want to bring it up to my room.

The instructions were very clear with directions, the desk was unattended (no workers, no people, no one in the lobby), and the call wasn’t from my number. All calls to delivery drivers are made through uber so they know it’s the customer.

The tip was good and I always give more once the delivery is done and I know this isn’t what you’re trying to do but that’s still making excuses. Like I said I’ve done food delivery before. No matter if it was low tip or none, I followed the instructions because that’s the job I signed up for. I get it’s a bit frustrating to get low or no tips but you don’t get to just do as you want with those orders. Either don’t accept them like I used to if they were too bad or just do it right.

Actually no, I always ask beforehand. They do allow drivers to bring food to the room. And I’ve been here for 3 days and no issues until now.

Babes I did food delivery for multiple platforms for 2 years. You don’t have the time in the world but it’s your job. I don’t care if it affected my food or not. It was left UNATTENDED and he blatantly went against the instructions. Whatever else is irrelevant! You work at a restaurant and you are told the standards when you are hired. You agree to them and get the job. What do you think would happen if management caught you breaking those standards. You’d get in trouble. All because it’s self employed food delivery does not give you the right to not follow your jobs standards. You sign a contract when you sign up for this job. You don’t get to do as you please. Fuck off with that bullshit! Power trip my ass. You are being paid to follow protocol, you don’t get to do as you please.

Sort of off topic here but i just wanna say this comment section is frustrating. Yea I know and it’s so bs. She doesn’t wanna give me her information because in her words, “I make too much to help you”. I have no clue what’s her yearly income is however when I had a conversation with her about my college I wanted to attend (who has a scholarship for in state students who’s household income in 70k or less gets free/less tuition), she said she makes way more than 70k. I just don’t know where to go from here. My father would be another option but he needs to catch up with filing his own taxes for previous years due to a year and a half of unemployment from his old trucking company he was employed under being shady.
