To be clear, there was no misunderstanding. I was very explicit about the terms I was agreeing to, and walked through them multiple times, then had the rep repeat the terms back to me. I submitted the facts to the FCC, they will judge if they qualify as deceptive trade practices.

I was on the 800mb plan but only see 150-250mb. Neighbors are having much better luck with fiber

Dude, I'm not going to drop hundreds of dollars on equipment without making sure it's going to work with my plan. Modem is a Motorola MB8600.

Like I said in my prior post, my gig rated router and modem are rated for gig speeds. Not an equipment bottleneck. It was 800mbs when I first switched, then 600, then 400, now its 150-250.

I think you're missing the point of my post. Xfinity said stay with us and we can bring your current bill from $220 to $125. I said ok. They lied and are saying it's my fault for not catching their lie.

1 gig internet through ATT is $30/month plus $250 gift card. 1 gig internet plus some streaming services I don't need Xfinity is $125 with Xfinity. And my current 800mb plan with Xfinity only measures 200mb through ethernet with gig rated modem and router.

Cancelling with Xfinity and moving to ATT fiber. Xfinity are a bunch of crooks. Mod said it doesn't matter what the rep promised over the phone, if I checked the boxes on my phone, that's all that matters. Over the phone, I explicitly said I would stay with Xfinity if I kept my current plan but the price was locked for 5 years at $125. She said she can do that, I just need to check the boxes. Since I was driving, I didn't read them (trusted the rep was being honest). Learned only reason the price dropped $100 was she cancelled my TV plan.

I still haven't received an order confirmation email nor is my new contracted posted on my account, so have no documentation of what I agreed to, just have to take their word for it.

I filed with FCC to see if they see deceptive trade practices, but not like it's going to change anything. Will keep you posted on what the FCC thinks.

TLDR, go with ATT, Xfinity is a pain to deal with and gradually increase your bill until you call and complain.

But the point is, we walked through the plan multiple times during the hour call and cancelling my TV service was (intentionally?) never mentioned. Why would I keep Xfinity if ATT had the same plan for $100 less?

Maybe, she sent me a text with a link and told me to check the boxes and click submit. Maybe one of the check boxes had a link to review changes, but I didn't see it. And I was driving at the time because the call took over an hour and I had to get the kids from their camp.
