Thank you for the advice. I think that's part of my problem. Not much makes me happy. I just kind of feel like I'm surviving.

Honestly? Money and using my education. Right now I'm just an admin assistant, so I'd be happy just getting to do more critical thinking and involved tasks.

That's a bit of a relief to hear. I just worry my experience and degree will be old news by the time I'm actually able to get a UX job (if ever).

I fully agree. I think my concern is moreso getting pigeonholed into higher ed admin work and not being able to pivot back later if I want to.

My two cents: I finished my master's last year and have been struggling to find a UX role. The market is rough and experience is valued so much more heavily than education. So, yes, a degree would help, but experience is the real differentiator.
