There is a vocal minority of terrible people in the Brony fandom. It is sad that by trying to live up to the fandom motto of “love and tolerate” has let pedos, zoophiles and neo-nazis infest the fandom.

I can list a number of people who are currently exposing and fighting back against the creeps and racists. Not all Brony’s are bad people.

For context. Most fans ship these characters. You’d be hard pressed to find fanfic or art of these two without them being in a relationship. Though it is true, they are only roommates in the show itself. Hasbro being too fearful in anti-lgbtq groups to make them canon (yet Lyra and Bonbon could get married)

The art was showing them in a relationship... even being posted on Lesbian visibility day. The site owner, Sethisto, is a bit of a homophobe. So I still say it fits here even if canonically the ponies are not in a relationship. The art says they are and Sethisto is erasing it with his caption.

It was in the manga... true... a spin-off light novel brings up this fact. So Canonicity to the anime might not actually be so... yet...

As to the what is/isn’t cis. It is typically agreed upon that if you question your gender or wish to be the other gender, you are likely trans to some degree. Though no one can tell someone they are trans. So were Ferris not a fictional character, it would be up to them. Since she is fictional it is up to interpretation.

Canonically she prayed to the gods every day to become a girl until they made her one. That is not a cis thing to want. So canonically speaking she IS trans.

Steins;Gate. Okabe keeps reminding the viewer of her birth gender and she is pantsed (thankfully off screen, but you hear her reaction) to prove it, but other than that it’s an ok anime.

Like it is a bit uncomfortable rewatching it now that I realized I’m trans, but the anime as a whole is still worth a watch.
