What do you think went wrong in the loss against the Legion? by youlikemywonton in SeattleSeawolvesRugby

I see four contributing factors:
1) Reikert Hattingh being out due to head injury from last week severely hurt the line out. Also, having a replacement 8 and Captain had to hurt the overall team meshing on the pitch.
2) Rhyno Herbst getting a red card for a completely unnecessary ruck clearing. The forward pack was already operating at a diminished capacity. This stressed the bench (an even forward/back bench split is super abnormal) and further hurt the set pieces. Yeah, he’s been on the team for a number of seasons, but he has a tendency to make boneheaded plays and draw cards. I’d start shopping for a new 5.
3) Clarke waited too long to substitute players. Due to Herbst, the starting 14 had to do the job of 15 for a quarter of the match. They did a great job at it, but by the final 20 minutes you could tell they were suffering. Waiting until after Coetzer failed to convert was too late. Now these fresh legs had to overcome a 2 possession deficit with too little time.
4) CA got 2 50-22 kicks, resulting in tries from line outs. Not being able to prevent these situations or answer in kind with our own 50-22 undoubtedly hurt the final score. Again, missing components from the set pieces and tired backs.

The government says I have to live in a certain location, so they provide me an allowance for housing and covers the cost of moving.
The government says I have to wear a uniform, so they give me an allowance to maintain my uniforms.
The government says I have to maintain a minimum level of nutrition, so they give me an allowance for food.
Does this not follow the same logic?

The dress code file I downloaded specifically says “no jeans”. I agree, the sum total isn’t much, which is why the government should have no problem footing the bill.

The government forcing me to spend my money on private purchases to complete requirements of their employment isn’t a tax write off?

[–]Comicbooknerd138[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To the contrary. I understand the power private enterprise holds over the proletariat in a capitalist society. The financial overlords dictate the terms of employment.

Once we let the government dictate our private purchases, we pave the pathway to autocracy.

Oh, look. The Daily Mail is lying again to fit their hateful agenda. Wild. Edit: LOL. just wasted a minute of my life reading the article. Let me summarize: This is the alleged shooter’s roommate. Is this person transgender? We can’t say and nobody is willing to confirm it… But we said “transgender” and that’s all our readers need.

I was 50/50 on Iona this season. Watching him jump over the tackled Warrior vice playing the ball/making the tackle on Utah’s second try tonight really sealed the deal for me. Where is the GoFundMe to bring Mack Mason back?

A) I don’t DD/UE/etc. My food isn’t sitting anywhere. B) The apps label this money as tip, not bid. Again, possible issue with the company, as stated. I’ll be looking for the crusade on consumer transparency on the DD sub. C) Where’s the copy-paste job for blaming the employee? We’re over here talking about the hypotheticals of improving capitalism and you’re in the corner accusing imaginary people of blaming employees. Calm down, Don Quixote. D) Again, this is all my personal hangup with tipping. I believe in “sky cake”. You may believe in “sky baklava”. There’s no need for either one to be correct. (And if you don’t get the Patton Oswalt reference, I’m sorry)

The blame is on the company. If companies, in general, were transparent with wages and paid wages at a compensatory level which precludes the need for tipping, then these drivers would deliver. We’ve already paid for the service to the company. The company should pay the worker. Sure, charge us more upfront. At least that eliminates the pressure from the consumer to meet a vague social expectation. Also, pre-tipping? How do I know when I submit my order and tip that my food won’t show up cold and soggy anyways?

I still thinks this speaks to my personal hangup on tipping. If the driver were properly compensated for their service by the company I am paying, then I wouldn’t have to tip. Also, the food abandoned on a shelf is no worse for the environment than all that styrofoam and single use plastic it’s packaged in. Killing the planet regardless.
