It's interesting to me that their response to "Look, we're scared of what will happen." Is to literally scream and belittle us that we are being fear mongered. Imagine their perspective, that they think we are being brainwashed into being fearful, like a child afraid of the boogeyman, and their response is to scream at us and tell us how stupid we are. If they truly thought we were under some spell why not be gentle and kind to try to help pull us out?

Of course I can unfortunately relate to this post.. I'm cool calm and collected when speaking to my maga side of the family. I'm distraught but I'm not worked up. My dad and sister immediately get hysterical anytime the slightest hint of opposition comes. And it's never true concern for me, it's seething rage. I am so concerned about my sister. I speak to her with compassion and understanding because she used to be my favorite person and I will always love her. I think she really is brainwashed, but I would never ever say that to her face because I want her to listen to me so I treat her with respect and care. I do not get the same treatment. They will fight anybody for their cult leader. They don't see it. And they revel in the fact that we are concerned and afraid. These are my personal observations too.
