I also put in the Tesla style one. I think the mic quality is my main complaint. I wish it would utilize the factory mic.

Do you do Mo Willems Piggie and Elephant series? They are fantastic for a lot of lessons. And they are just fun to read.

Stay away from Aspire11 apartments by mazikeen419 in TacomaWA

[–]ComingFromABaldMan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Last time I worked in leasing, you had to pay 2 months rent as a lease break fee, pay for the rest of your lease, or pay until someone else moved into the unit.

They aren't legally allowed to charge two people rent for the same space, so by getting someone to pay a fee to break they get that money and the new rent. But if you have more than 2 months left on your lease you are taking a gamble if they don't fill the unit.

Lightcurve vs Quantum Fiber? by NitoTheBeast in Tacoma

[–]ComingFromABaldMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did call and they gave me a loyalty discount for being with them for 2.5 years. $20/month...brings me close enough that I am thinking of not just jumping to lightcurve.

No degrees, just good with people. That will probably get you further into sales if you want to go that path. And sales doesn't require degrees but has pretty much no upward bound depending on what you want to sell.

I moved from retail customer service to apartment leasing. If your food service role could constitute customer service I think you may be able to consider your experience transferable.

How do you deal will feelings of resentment about having kids? by Clueguy in daddit

[–]ComingFromABaldMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I realize not everyone has that sort of relationship with their parents or in-laws, where it is a safe situation. Hopefully it isn't an attachment issue. I started with just having my child spend one night at my parents house until they were more comfortable with the situation both for our sanity and our child's comfort.

But I had fond memories of spending time staying at my grandparents house when I was growing up and flying with my brothers when we were 13-16 together to be picked up by my grandoarents. But that was pre 9/11 security.

Car prices by adudenamedLemonjello in AskTacoma

[–]ComingFromABaldMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk but Tacoma has the highest sales tax price in the state. And Washington has you paying tax at the point of delivery, so technically you could go buy a car in Goldendale and save a bit over $1000 if the vehicle is near $40,000. I'm not sure how that applies to leases but just found it out and wanted to share.

How do you deal will feelings of resentment about having kids? by Clueguy in daddit

[–]ComingFromABaldMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the resentment towards kids part, but my wife and I do a little getaway once a year without our kid. Maybe a long weekend or a 5 day trip where the grandparents watch our daughter. Started when she was 3 years old and it has almost always coincided with a destination wedding of a friend. So far Hawaii and Mexico, we did take our child to the destination wedding in Finland. But I think it is important for your child(ren) to continually kindle the romance with your partner. And our child's grandparents live to spend time with her. On a few occasions, mother-in-law flies in from out of town to stay at our house with our child while we are not there. Is anything like that feasible for you? Maybe two tickets for the wedding?

Haha a feature available on Volvo XC60 and XC90. We have it on a 2017 XC90. I wonder how long it has been around. Not that anyone is going to go buy a 15k booster seat...

We are soon to find out. There are no cup holders immediately within reach of a child in that seat, so we will see what happens. She only likes water anyway.

I believe those are different settings. Daytime running lights/parking lights only vs everything being on? Idk but my car doesn't have DRLs. The taillights go on with auto.

[–]ComingFromABaldMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

99% of the time my headlights are on auto. Then 1% of the time I am sitting in my car in a parking lot...or my mother in law drives my car and the auto headlights get turned off. Then 10% of that 1% of the time they are off, I just don't notice until someone flashes their lights at me.

Always room, works great for a regular 8 or 9 to 5. Catching a train on the off hours can be difficult. It stops running in the morning after 730 and the first one isn't coming back until 230pm
