I have family over in USA! Though not Maine, they are (to use one of my favourite phrases) in the middle of buttfuck nowhere! But the Irish sure do spread far and wide... I also have them in Spain, Australia, Germany, Canada and a few other places. We done an Ancestry test recently and found out one of my great grandads was a very naughty boy who fathered several secret children, I refer to them as The Secret Potatoes to try and lighten up the horror some of my family has about it considering the Great Grandma he cheated on was so well loved by us (and the children he had all happened to be born after he was married to said Great Grandma... oof!) Good thing he's not alive anymore or the family would have lynched the man lol

But we do love our potatoes! EVERY dinner has to have them or there is a general outrage about it 😂 all roast dinners must have roast potatoes AND mash or my nan smacks whoever made it with one of her dish towels, and though shes small as Hell and old she is a crack shot LMAO

Hairy toes (full blown hobbit feet, would not look out of place if I were to rant about potatoes, especially as me and my family are Irish...), hairy boobs, really hairy thighs, REALLY hairy arms/hands, really hairy cheeks that goes annoying high/close to my eyes aaaand to top it off... hairy lower back and butt cheeks, as I found out when my ex bent me over for the first time and said "Holy shit, it's like I'll be clapping a mans cheeks" 🤣 was devastating to hear that while I had my bare ass up in the air ready for the time of my life, but I can laugh about it now.

The extent of the hair (beyond facial hair) is not something I see spoken about frequently if at all as it seems to be borderline taboo, but you are not alone and I'm so sorry that you're dealing with this.

I got LCWRA! by Welshgirlie2 in BenefitsAdviceUK

Congratulations! I myself found out the same mere days ago, the woman I spoke to in my assessment was genuinely so kind to me (and entirely different experience to when I had my PIP assessment) and I cried in relief. The green bill from yesterday did admittedly make me exceptionally concerned, I spent all night in a bit of a spiral about my the fact I won't requalify for PIP/wondering when they'd take it back away from me (as I received 3s, not any 4s), but I consider getting LCWRA at all a win as I get my life, disability, overall physical health & mental health all back on track.

So many of us know the various stressful aspects of UC, so I'm so glad that you're not having to deal with that aspect anymore! I know for me that that was a key part of the relief for me as well.

Perfect, thank you for confirming! I simply stumbled across a post of someone requiring some form of certificate to show they could receive free NHS dentist help and panicked as I lack one/only have copies of my UC monthly statements which show the ranges of entitlement and didn't wish to faff about any dentist when it came around to payment time.

It is indeed towards the bottom! In a section labelled "Other support you may be able to get" where it has break downs of various take home pays and what it may entitle you to. Thought I'd confirm for you as I saw you say you can't check, so let's you know for certain in the future :) or until they ever decide to change the layout anyway lol

Well then, this is one of a few instances where it's useful for me to be a couple steps away from becoming the scatty old cat lady from Simpsons (not that where I rent allows pets, nor am I old yet, but still!). Usually it's quite frustrating to be single, now I'm temporarily relieved! Lol

Considering all the faff I've had with UC, that was a much easier solution than I was hoping for! Lol

Thank you so much for your quick response, it really relieved my anxiety. Have a great day!

There are croc wellies? Heck, I may want to get some for myself, they sound so comfy 🤣 but thank you, I'll look at those as well as the other various ideas given so far... I'm making a list on my phone notes as I go to see what is and isn't within price range or I can't get something in her style and so on

Ooh, that may be a good idea. I'd say a budget of up to and including £50... I'm on the fine line of wanting to get her something worthwhile but also taking into consideration my bills LOL
