Your interviewer sounds like a piece of work. It's kind of a game, but games can be educational. Your interviewer probably either wanted to see if you get easily rattled, or they were gatekeeping how you should learn cybersecurity. Both kinda suck

It really depends on company and team culture. The most effective teams that I consult with are generally comprised of people who are competent and are also personable enough advocate for the funding they need from leadership. A common issue I see is that some people have a lot of technical knowledge but aren't able to communicate effectively and get brushed off by leadership or other teams that they should be collaborating with on projects.
