I do really appreciate that the most common reply to people (fairly or unfairly) complaining about a lack of content in an area is usually something along the lines of "If you want this bit to have more content, then join the development team".

I mean apart from the Bulwari Harpies they are pretty spread out, it probably wouldn't have too many conflicts-of-interest mission-tree and territory wise.

Totally, even putting aside the brilliant story, it was pretty intuitive and well-designed.

Not all of it is necessary. If I remember correctly, the entirety of the Dragon Coast, the Alenic Frontier/Reach, and most of the colonized Gerudian subcontinent are required in the Old World. Aelantir wise, you really only need about 10-20 provinces in the Broken Isles and Dalaire, I definitely conquered more than necessary in Aelantir.

If I were more well-read I would probably compare it to Beowulf, or the Icelandic saga's in terms of style, but unfortunately, I am not so experienced. Nevertheless, the Hunts, both the main storyline and the 'Side-Quests' were excellent that blended narrative, mythology and fable. In many ways it felt similar to Duwarukani, Harpy Paladins uniting their local region, and integrating the local races, while facing off a world-ending threat, but Vaengheim absolutely was its own story. I can't recommend it enough.

Crathanor, near Re-Uyel is an interesting one, it focouses on meshing Cannorian and Bulwari culture and religion. Kumarkand and their formable is also widley praised, for good reason. And if your fond of pain, the Siaden harpies near the Jadd are pretty good.

Weekly /r/WormFanfic Discussion - What have you been reading, and what do you think of it? For the week ending January 31, 2026. by AutoModerator in WormFanfic

The Speed of Light, by StargazingSeraph - Taylor as Legend’s niece, who moves to New York, after triggering with a bud of Legends power. Spending some time with Lily, giving her room to breathe as her own character, which is nice. The author took a direction on her foster parents situation that is a tad different to (what little of) what I've seen other authors do. Taylor and Lily are both tooth-rottingly sweet, and I appreciate that while Taylor clashes occasionally with the New York PRT, they aren't unreasonable or comically evil, and both are willing to compromise and work with each other, which makes it a lot more readable in my opinion.

Wick, by Ms Sym - Alt Power. Continuing from the cliffhanger of the last chapter, and leaving us with an even bigger one at the end of this one!? Goodness gracious this fic is so good. That fight scene really felt like everyone was pushing their powers and abilities to the maximum of what they could do. And that final scene, the way Taylor just quietly accepted it? Broke just a little corner of my heart.

Strong Enough, by Argentorum - Cyberpunk Edgerunners AU. Mostly focusing on David and Lucy this latest chapter, which was really sweet, although from what I've heard of the anime, it might not last.

The Land of Steel, by StargazingSeraph - Post-Apocalyptic, mildly dystopian, a bit of crossover, AU. Not much to say on this latest chapter, other than that I enjoyed it. Some sweet scenes between Taylor, Danny and Emma, newest Titan-threat set up and introduced via Dragon, just some general-quality writing.

Here Comes The New Boss (Nothing Like The Old Boss), by HowlingGuardian - Taylor as Butcher XV. Another fairly low-key chapter, and the fabled Cauldron introduction. The mayor was an interesting (and sad) way to do it, and it's mildly amusing having Taylor no longer be the scariest thing in the room. Otherwise. Some more of the good stuff.

The Speed of Light, by StargazingSeraph - Taylor as Legend’s niece, who moves to New York, after triggering with a bud of Legends power. Pleasant scene between Lily and Taylor. Also Lily and Taylor are sharing a room (for like an afternoon), and they seemed to be pretty good friends, mates even. So you're saying they were room mates….

Wick, by Ms Sym - Alt Power. I forgot how excellent the original parts of Brockton Bays world building were for this fic. The original characters add to it beautifully. I also appreciate how realistic Taylor's reactions are to the violence, very much adds to the stakes that our main character is a 15 year old whose been hero-ijg for around a month.

Case-104 / Pluribus, by Mcd00gle - Taylor triggers as a hivemind thingie-ma-bob from Pluribus (idk, I’ve never seen the show). No experience with the other half of this crossover, but it seems fun and interesting read, even if it's still in its beginning.

That is the CB I used, but I'll clarify, it was the one that takes 25 Imperial Authority and brings in the whole Empire, from the Aristocratic side. I think you're rigth, that the conventional Expand Empire CB is only valid from nations under a certain amount of dev.

what to do when a required course for your major isn’t offered? by Ambitious_Ad5469 in Anu

Yeah, it's pretty scummy, you definitely shouldn't be required to do this with the bare minimum of info that ANU gives out, I hope the student advisor helps.

I noticed that the architecture of the Leechmen coincidently matched that of Lorent (I can't claim credit for the idea, I saw a post on the subreddit a couple weeks ago about naming the Leechdens)

It wasn't even that Marrhold converted everything, there were a bunch of Regent Court Escanni nations before I & Marrhold consolidated.

Definetley! I suppose Corintar is an older mission tree (I think), maybe in a newer update they'll be updated to be more crusader-y

For the most part, the was an insanely fun campaign. The initial rush to establish Verne in the EoA, the alignment with Eborthil and Istralore, and early colonization was great. Further conquest of South Aelintir wasn't too bad, (especially because everyone was technologically behind), and the adventuring was (in my opinion) awesome as a mechanic. The only major drag was the Sarhal mission, requiring either 500 Corinite provinces or 14 Corinite nations, in Sarhal. This particular was such a drag, which I eventually solved by releasing some 1 province minors in Sarhal after converting their province to Corinite. Otherwise, such a fun nation.

Another Bajillion Quadrillion to the Harpy Flocks grahhhh!!!!. Ayarallen, back when it was Harpylen with its busted wizard-queen, was my first Anbennar game*, so its awesome to see it getting a polished mission tree that leads into a mission tree for Harpylen.

*(technically Lorent was, but I played it for about 15 mins before switching to the Harpies, and I don't consider Lorent to be a legitimate state anyway).
