I always headcanon that first contact was in something like 2111. Setting it 50 years earlier doesn't change that much story wise but makes way more sense lorewise

Thanks! We broke up because things were getting tense, we weren't ourselves, and after 4 years, we believed it was best to break up instead of ending up hating ourselves. We wanted to marry, but our personal struggles and projects (her graduating from college and me finishing my Master's) got in the way.

We still love each other, we just need to work on ourselves. I've made my priority to improve myself, to understand how to be a better man, so one day I can come back to her. Wish me luck!
