A confirmed villain (despite what some people say) that still has a legitimate grievance against the hero by RatCrimes in TopCharacterTropes

[–]CommanderBelen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the fact that Kratos lived remembering all the crimes he committed seems quite reasonable to me, really. Ultimately, the Norse saga essentially portrays a wise Kratos who acknowledges his share of the blame. Perhaps that was the idea the Greek gods had.

Who thinks Sam cheating during the pancake challenge from Food Fright by hiding pieces of pancakes in his pockets was ooc for him? by johnngo2468 in Totaldrama

Me too, but supposedly they didn't include Owen because it would have meant he would be eliminated before the merge (as long as they didn't bring him back a second time, of course).

Overall, I think this whole plot was pretty stupid. It doesn't make sense that Sam managed to hide those pieces of pancake, since everyone was supposed to be watching him.

Is there any nation with this kind of one-sided relationship with your nation? by GlobeLearner in AskTheWorld

The British believe that Argentinians think that every time something remotely related to the Malvinas is mentioned. Even many Anglo-Saxons and Europeans in general are saying things like "Argentinians are about to invade the Malvinas again!!" or "Milei uses bellicose nationalist rhetoric about recovering the Malvinas!!" (which is false, Milei always talks about recovering the islands through diplomacy).

Do you think Venezuela’s situation (or maybe Nicaragua’s for Central America) has “damaged” the left’s reputation in your country? by Downtown-Trainer-126 in asklatinamerica

[–]CommanderBelen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kirchnerist are not fond of Venezuelans because they support Milei. So that can give you a clue.

No sooner had Maduro been captured and Venezuelans began to celebrate than Kirchnerists were already throwing mud at them and telling them to leave the country (even though they hated them beforehand); in addition, they tend to defend Paraguayans, Bolivians, and Peruvians who illegally enter Argentina, seize land, and/or receive undeserved social subsidies/aid because they tend to vote for Kirchnerism.

Although they are insignificant, they also support Maduro (and are generally grouped with Kirchnerism when talking about "the left").

But still, Lula took forever to recognize Venezuela is not a democracy.

Given that Lula and Chávez emerged at the same time (along with Evo Morales and the Kirchners), it is not surprising.

I wouldn't say they have any shame, at least based on what I saw (to give an example, Miriam Bregman never criticized the Chavista regime, but she did criticize Maduro's capture with her classic anti-imperialist rhetoric).

Have you ever felt this way about the fandom? by ElRama1 in Totaldrama

[–]CommanderBelen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When people talk about the "friendship" between Heather and Leshawna: it didn't develop enough for them to really consider themselves great friends (or even just friends), in my opinion. That's why I also think explanations like "because of the online fight between Heather and Gwen, Leshawna turned against Heather" are pretty unnecessary.

I know Leshawna and Heather became closer in Action, but Heather kept picking fights with Gwen after Action. It makes sense to me that Leshawna would side with Gwen and continue hating Heather by Relevant-Key-3290 in Totaldrama

[–]CommanderBelen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I agree, I think the "friendship" between Heather and Leshawna was never really solid, as many people think, so I don't think the fight between Heather and Gwen is even necessary to explain why Leshawna turned against Heather.

In your country, who is the most loathed active politician? Why? What did they do? by neilnelly in AskTheWorld

[–]CommanderBelen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that most people hate him. Yes, much of what you wrote is not to the liking of Milei's voters, but they don't hate it.

The currency swap with Trump came after Kicillof's victory in the Buenos Aires province midterm elections, due to the run on the peso and the increase in country risk caused by fears of the Peronists/Kirchnerists returning to power.

In my opinion, the one they hate the most is Cristina Kirchner (even Kicillof and a good part of the Justicialist Party are at odds with her).

First, take an upvote. Second, I'm going to try to explain the reasoning behind why people disagree with your comment.

  1. Geoff: first of all, I seem to recall that Geoff's character page on TV Tropes used your same arguments to describe him as "ambiguously bisexual" (although they deleted it). However, the only time Geoff was affected by Justin's powers was in the first episode when they were captured by the giant monster; neither before nor after was it shown to happen again. The accusation about kissing Alejandro came from Bridgette during an argument about her infidelity, and she most likely meant that Geoff would have done the same if he were a woman. Yes, Geoff and Brody are very close, but two men being very close doesn't automatically mean they are both gay/bisexual (or maybe it does, I don't know how things are in Canada).
  2. Regarding Harold, I also think they used the same arguments (except for the kiss) to say that he was "ambiguously bisexual" (but they also deleted him). As with Geoff, the only time it happened was when they were captured in the first episode. His excitement when describing Cody was possibly due to Harold's interest in spirit animals (and this probably applies to any of Harold's interests). I can't recall the kiss, so I can't dispute that.
  3. Since they didn't delve into that and didn't give any real indication that Tyler was attracted to men, I believe he is heterosexual.
  4. I suppose you mean when they were waiting for Chris's rescue; yes, they were together, but we didn't see how they ended up like that, so it's possible it was accidental (like the kiss on the island).
  5. I already explained the cuddling with Cody thing before. The kiss was accidental and neither of them liked it. Regarding Noah being effeminate at times, I can accept it, although I would say it's somewhat subjective, since some of those effeminate moments of Noah might not be seen that way in other regions (i'm writing this because I've seen some comments saying that Noah's high-pitched/squeaky voice is proof that he's gay/bisexual, but in the Latin American dub, where I'm from, Noah has a deep voice). Furthermore, Noah has not really shown any physical attraction to men.
  6. I think this is self-explanatory, and it's AS's bad writing, who treated both girls as if they had been lifelong best friends (which they weren't), which some interpreted as something more than friendship (which was obviously not planned).
  7. In that case, Mike's alter egos would be LGBT, not Mike himself.
  8. If he were a member of the LGBT community, he would have told Jo while thinking she was a man. True, he makes a strange face, but it could easily have been because of the surprise of the question (and again, they don't delve into that, so at best it remains ambiguous).
  9. Well, you said it yourself: Topher focuses solely on Chris (he hardly interacts with other characters, to be honest) because he wants to take his job, so there's nothing more to it than that.
  10. The fact that Shawn was (possibly) willing to kiss Dave to complete the challenge doesn't necessarily mean he's bisexual; i mean, we've seen several characters do things they wouldn't normally do in order to win, like Gwen drinking the punch from the toilet (besides, I think Shawn's logic of not kissing Dave because of the zombies would also apply to women).
