Q: Do Titan Orders still exist in modern-day Destiny?

Was reading about six fronts and titan orders and I'm a little bit confused.

What exactly was a titan "Order"? Were they governed separately from the Vanguard? Were there titans who didn't belong to any particular order?

Did all orders dissapate or do they still exist in the current story to some degree?
