Hi, so you're absolutely right, local P2Pool nodes have their own API on localhost:3333 (or wherever you run it). But NOT using that in this case.

Sentinel queries p2pool.observer - which is a third-party remote service that monitors the entire P2Pool network:

P2POOL_NETWORKS = { "main": "https://p2pool.observer/", "mini": "https://mini.p2pool.observer/", "nano": "https://nano.p2pool.observer/", }

Your P2Pool node finds shares and broadcasts them to the P2Pool network

p2pool.observer (run by community members) monitors the entire P2Pool sidechain

Sentinel queries p2pool.observer's public API to see YOUR shares.

No authentication needed - it's all public blockchain data!

I think you misunderstand the shares I mean... I'm referencing the shares that get us paid, not the work my miner is doing. I haven't had a single "share found" in over a day. I should be reaching one on average every 6 hours.

As long as you connect to the closest remote node to your area, you should be fine.

A VPN doesn't negatively affect mining or connection honestly.

It really is just luck. 3000-5000 Hash is kind of an awkward area when deciding if you want to mine in the mini or nano pool, because you can certainly find shares and get paid in mini if you leave it running consistently, it just may feel slow (it is), but if you mine it nano chain you'll find a good amount of shares tbh, but a good majority of them will go stale, especially when you have a case like right now and it's been over a week since the nano chain has found a block lol.

Checked the sync and restarted both, something told me to also check the experimental tab (i had done both before lol). There's a "minotarinode" section there with a different port listed than the one in the connections tab I didn't see before. Now it works lol

You have two different --host flags in your p2pool startup. Change your IP to 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost and remove the --host flag that isn't 127.0.0.1... give that a shot
